Demonstration Package Now Available for New LabVIEW for Windows

Free Demo Software Highlights How to Use Graphical Programming to Develop
Virtual Instrumentation Applications Using Windows-based PCs

October 2, 1992 - Austin, TX - National Instruments announced today that a
free demonstration package is available for the new LabVIEW for Windows
graphical programming software. The demonstration package includes
software and a guide that give the user a comprehensive look at the
LabVIEW software but does not require previous knowledge of LabVIEW.

Based on the full-function version of LabVIEW, the LabVIEW tor Windows
Demonstration Package describes fundamental LabVIEW concepts, gives an
overview of the system, and guides the user through hands-on examples. In
the first section, the user learns about LabVIEW and explores a completed
virtual instrument (VI) program. In the second section, the user builds a
VI from scratch. The third section contains a variety of examples
demonstrating how LabVIEW addresses different application needs. The last
section also describes the GPIB, VXI, and Instrument Driver VI libraries
for controlling over 115 GPIB, VXI, and RS-232 instruments using the
company's interface hardware; the Data Acquisition VI Library for
controlling the company's PC plug-in data acquisition and signal
conditioning hardware, and the Data Analysis Library for processing
acquired data.

Availability and Requirements 

The LabVIEW for Windows Demonstration Package is available now on 3.5 in.
high-density diskettes. The package requires a 386/33 PC with a 387
coprocessor (486 recommended) running Microsoft Windows Version 3.1, 8M
memory, and a VGA or Super VGA video adapter. The package is currently
available in English.
