E-MACHINES ANNOUNCES COLORLINK FAMILY OF INTERFACE CARDS FOR THE MACINTOSH
IIvx, IIvi and MACINTOSH PERFORMA 600

ColorLink Integrates Color Graphics and Ethernet on a Single Interface
Card

BEAVERTON, Oregon USA--October 19, 1992--In partnership with Apple
Computer, Inc.'s announcement of its new Macintosh IIvx and IIvi
computers, E-Machines announces ColorLink interface cards for the
Macintosh IIvx and IIvi. ColorLink interface cards add Ethernet networking
and 16-inch color display support, both emerging business standards, to
the Macintosh IIvx and IIvi .

"Full-page displays and high-speed Ethernet communications are rapidly
evolving business standards," states Kem Roos, E-Machines Product
Marketing Manager. "Only ColorLink from E-Machines provides both of these
standards in an affordable, one-card solution. A Macintosh IIvx with a
ColorLink card matches today's business standards to provide maximum
productivity for the business user."

ColorLink cards are compatible with a wide range of displays for flexible
use. E-Machines offers compatible displays with the ColorPage T16 II and
the E-Machines T19 II. ColorLink interface cards are also compatible with
displays from other manufacturers, including the Macintosh 16" Color
Display, Sony 1604S, NEC FG Series, and virtually every other Macintosh
display on the market.

All ColorLink interface cards include advanced graphics features such as
acceleration, switch-on-the-fly resolutions (changing between resolutions
without restarting the Macintosh when used with multiple-resolution
displays) panning, zooming, and video output.

Ethernet is an important emerging business standard because it lets users
send and receive files from colleagues, servers, and printers at speeds 5
to 10 times faster than LocalTalk. ColorLink fully supports and is
compatible with Apple's EtherTalk Phase II. ColorLink is also tested by
Novell and is compatible with Novell Netware for the Macintosh. ColorLink
also supports all popular network operating systems and protocols,
including AppleShare, DECnet, OSI, TCP/IP, and System 7,

The newest member of the ColorLink card family, the ColorLink LC, provides
large-screen color graphics and both twisted pair and thin Ethernet for
Macintosh LC and LCIIs. The addition of these features elevates the
Macintosh LC to a true business-class machine. ColorLink LC will ship
beginning in November for $599.
