SEATTLE, September 21, 1992--Aldus Corporation today announced Aldus
Publishing Showcase, a promotional bundle of Aldus PageMaker, Aldus
FreeHand, and Aldus PhotoStyler for Microsoft Windows.

Aldus Publishing Showcase will be available only in the U.S. and Canada
during the fourth quarter of 1992. All three products will be sold
together in a custom package with a suggested retail price of $995 (U.S.),
less than half the combined suggested retail prices of the individual
products.

"Aldus is the only company that can offer Windows users a comprehensive
software solution for graphic communications, and now those customers can
purchase an entire PC graphics tool set in one package," said Mike
Peronto, director of sales for Aldus USA. "The combination of PageMaker,
Aldus FreeHand, and PhotoStyler makes the Publishing Showcase an
unbeatable value."

PageMaker 4.0 is the world's best-selling page layout software for Windows.
Aldus FreeHand 3.1 for Windows is a comprehensive design and illustration
tool. PhotoStyler 1.1a is an image processing program that enables Windows
users to enhance digitized photographic images.

System requirements 

The products in the Aldus Publishing Showcase require Microsoft Windows 3.0
(or later) and compatible hardware. The Showcase includes 3 1/2-inch
disks, with a coupon for free 5 1/4-inch disks.

The recommended system configuration for Aldus Publishing Showcase is a
486- or 386-based DOS compatible computer with 4MB of RAM, an 80MB hard
drive, a high-resolution graphics adapter card, and a mouse. For
professional image enhancement, a 24-bit color display system and a Super
VGA standard graphics card (or better) are recommended.

The minimum configuration is a 286-based DOS-compatible computer with 2MB
of RAM, a 40MB hard drive, an EGA graphics adapter card, and a mouse or
other pointing device.

Pricing and availability Aldus Publishing Showcase will be available
beginning October 1,1992, through Aldus resellers in the U.S. and Canada
for a suggested retail price of $995 (U.S.). The promotion ends December
31, 1992. Customers who purchase the standard retail version of any one of
the Publishing Showcase products on or after September 1, 1992, are
eligible for a rebate coupon on the purchase of one other Showcase
