New Canaan, CT -- APBA computer baseball fans can now update hundreds of
games, calculate leader boards, and write dozens of league and team
reports in minutes with StatMaster 2.0 from Miller Associates.

StatMaster 2.0, the statistics compiler for the APBA computer game, is four
to five times faster than the previous version and has an entirely new
interface with drop-down menus and mouse support.

APBA Major League Players Baseball, rated "number one" for league play by
Computer Gaming World, is widely known for its realism and statistical
accuracy. Fans often play many games at one time, even hundreds of games.
StatMaster 2.0 updates these games at a rate of two seconds per game on a
386 class computer and four seconds per game on an AT/286. The new
StatMaster also makes all win-loss-save scoring decisions so that updating
is not interrupted.

StatMaster 2.0 uses Borland's Turbo Vision interface, a text-based
windowing environment for 640K machines. StatMaster's 28 pages of league
and team reports can he put on the screen all together and then navigated
with the tab key or a mouse. All reports now scroll and freeze titles. The
windows make it possible to compare teams and leagues from different
organizations on one screen.

StatMaster now supports season disks--like 1991 or 1908--on the hard drive.
The need for floppies has been entirely eliminated, although the program
still offers the option of storing stats on floppies.

StatMaster 2.0 now has 58 Leader Boards--7 new ones, including Quality
Starts for pitchers and Current Hitting Streak for batters. Also, users
can now specify the number of players listed for categories of
performance--S, 10, 15, or 20--so Leader Boards are appropriate for the
size of each user's league.

StatMaster 2.0 tracks almost, but not quite, everything. After being
brushed back by a pitch, Tito Fuentes once said, "They shouldn't throw at
me. I'm the father of five or six kids." StatMaster 2.0 does not cover
KP--Kids Produced--but it does track 25 offensive stats, 11 defensive
stats, and 32 pitching stats for every player in the league. It also keeps
118 team stats and 39 league stats so that you can compare teams and
leagues.

APBA fans are pushing StatMaster hard," says Kenneth Includes Print Miller,
one of the principals of Miller Associates, and they demand a program that
really cranks out the stats and reports. We looked at every single feature
and rewrote the entire program. Users expectations have been raised by
office software. We're trying to meet those professional expectations. For
instance, every report now prints to disk, so you can send reports to your
word processor. Draft league reporters like that more than bacon."

Look for these additional changes in StatMaster 2.0:

1) An expanded instruction manual with an index and how-to information on
Turbo Vision.

2) A control file that saves paths and screen settings so users do not have
to re-enter them each time they use the program.

3) An option to delete a game before updating in case a user accidentally
saved an unwanted game.

4) A new install routine with default pathways. User just presses Enter. If
the user accepts the default subdirectories, installation takes less than
one minute on a 27-ms hard drive.

APBA Baseball StatMaster 2.0 requires APBA Major League Players Baseball; a
PC or PS/2 compatible computer; monochrome or color graphics adapter; at
least 640K of memory; two drives; and DOS 3.1 or later. A printer is
highly recommended.

StatMaster 2.0 is available directly from Miller Associates by calling the
order line 1-800-654-5472 or by mail or fax. Suggested retail price is
$39.95. There is no longer a special upgrade offer, nor is any disk
exchange required.
