Provo, Utah - June 15, 1992 - Automated Control Systems Inc. unveiled today
a new software system for control and data acquisition that runs on any PC
compatible computer and is dedicated to DGH IO Modules. DGH Modules are
sold by Cyber Research as the TeleDAS system, by Metrabyte as M1000-M4000
modules, by Omega as Omegabus modules, and by WestCon as W1000 - W4000
series.

"PACX-DGH" (Process Acquisition and Control eXpert) features a rule based,
table fillout application generator which eliminates traditional
programming and software maintenance headaches. Tables of rules are built,
using the menu driven system builder, to describe the control and
acquisition algorithms needed. Multiple tasks may be described allowing
easy decomposition of complex control applications. "PACX-DGH" is a
dedicated version of the general "PACX' Control and Data Acquisition
software which allows multiple vendor hardware drivers to be attached.

Drivers for all the DGH modules (1000, 2000, 3000, 4000) are linked into to
the run time system allowing the user to develop "right away" his
application without writing programs. A complete application based on DGH
IO Modules can be developed by using the English language used in PACX and
a basic understanding of the application that has to be developed. A
complete set of mathematical operators is available for both digital and
analog calculations. Inputs are checked against a mathematical expression
for true conditions to drive the rule base to new rules. Outputs may also
use full mathematical expressions which utilize any of the other I/O for
calculating their settings.

A full set of timing operations is also available including, relative
timers, wall clock time, minimum and maximum time for each rule. These
allow the application developer a high degree of flexibility for timing
operations.

During run time full screen control is available to the application
developer. Text based Menus, Data Entries, and Messages may all be built
and controlled using the System Builder. This gives full control to the
developer for interactive type applications.

Stephen Renshaw, President, explains that "The rule base allows selective
next rule scanning which greatly improves the performance of the generated
system by only scanning the I/Os that pertain to these rules. The rule
base also allows the use of some automatic error detection for minimum and
maximum times for each rule."

Since "PACX-DGH" generated systems are described in english they are self
documenting, eliminating the confusion that arises with conventional
systems when the control "programmer" quits.

"PACX-DGH" is available immediately and priced at only $299.00 for a
complete system. General "PACX" is also available if multiple vendor
hardware needs to be used in the same application and is priced at only
$985.00 for a complete system.
