"The Retailer" inventory control system was recently released by Software
Engineer Gary A. McNutt. "The Retailer" is an inventory control system
developed specifically for the IBM PC and compatible computers. Commands
can be selected from pulldown menus, and context sensitive, on-line help
is available. "The Retailer" has a variety of features which will appeal
to merchants and professional buyers.

Anyone responsible for generating purchase orders will appreciate the
ability to monitor up to five locations selling similar products. This
product was not designed to be a Point-of-Sale system, but rather it is a
"backroom" system for a central-buying office or merchant. A review of
"The Retailer" contained the following quote: 'We're not small-business
people, but when we sat down recently with a respected member of the local
Chamber of Commerce, we couldn't find a feature that a small or medium
businessperson would lack in this program. " San Jose Mercury News

Min/Max stock levels may be recalculated automatically based on current
sales trends and stock conditions. Multiple vendors may used, each with up
to 10,000 stock keeping units. Sales are inputted from the store's sales
tickets or from a physical inventory taken on a generated counting form.
ABC sales analysis identifies best sellers. Purchase orders can be
computer generated or manually created.

Advanced features include a five-year monthly sales history by item for
each store as well as for the whole group. Bar charts of sales performance
may be viewed on a video monitor, and scattergrams of each item's sales
with a trend line can be plotted. Printer redirection is included for
sending reports to disk files for viewing or printing later. Receiving
room personnel will be thankful for the computer generated price tags that
are taken directly from purchase orders.

"The Retailer" v4.05 requires 384K of RAM and 515K of available hard disk
space for programs. "The Retailer" is available from most major Shareware
disk distributors, User Groups, and Bulletin Board Services -- Including
the America Online libraries. Author Registration is $49, which includes a
printed manual and the most recent release of the software.
