May 29, 1992 -- Washington, DC -- The Software Publishers Association (SPA)
announced today the results of the 1992 election of officers and Board of
Directors

The SPA board members, elected for a 2 year term, include

-- Dan Bricklin, vice president, Slate Corp
-- Doug Carlston, chairman and CEO, Br0derbund Software
-- Gordon Eubanks, president and CEO, Symantec Corporation
-- Spencer Leyton, vice president, Borland International, Inc
-- Heidi Roizen, president and CEO, T/Maker

Jeff Raikes, senior vice president, Microsoft Corporation, and Tom Varley,
vice president, MECC, were elected to 1 year terms on the board, and Phil
Adam, vice president, Interplay Productions, was appointed to a 1 year
term.

Returning board members include Scott Cook, president, Intuit; Jan
Davidson, president, Davidson & Associates; Brian Dougherty, CEO,
GeoWorks; and John Kernan, chairman and CEO, Jostens Learning Corporation;
and Ken Wasch, SPA's executive director.

In addition, Kirk Loevner, director of Apple Development Group, Apple
Computer, Inc., was appointed to a newly created position of non-voting
board member, representing the interests of hardware manufacturers.

At its first meeting, the directors elected the board officers, who are:
Gordon Eubanks, chairman of the board; Scott Cook, president; John Kernan,
treasurer; and Heidi Roizen, secretary.

"The SPA is lucky to have such a diverse and dedicated Board of Directors,"
said SPA executive director Ken Wasch. "Our board has a major challenge
ahead in dealing with common issues of more than 900 members spanning
dozens of market segments."

The Software Publishers Association, with offices in Washington, DC, and
Paris La Defense, is the principal trade group of the PC software
industry. Its more than 900 members represent the leading publishers in
the business, consumer and education software markets.
