Procomp ships new S-DCB/32E EISA-bus 5 Mbps SCSI-2 host adapter.

Procomp USA, Inc. (Cleveland, OH) is now shipping a long- awaited 32-bit
EISA-bus version of its high-throughput 5 Mbps Disk Coprocessor Board.
This newest DCB fully supports SCSI-2 (and SCSI-1) peripherals and both
synchronous and asynchronous modes. It is natively compatible with
Novell(R) DCB drivers, a long-accepted standard for NetWare(R)-based LANs,
and is optimized for the elevator seeks and other disk access attributes
of that robust network operating system. It incorporates a sizable
on-board RAM cache buffer, an on-board floppy disk controller and a
complete NetWare-compatible UPS hardware interface. And it comes complete
with a boot PROM, plus software utilities and drivers to support many
special peripherals, including those with removable media. The new Procomp
DCB-32/E is available now for $799 (all prices suggested US resale at
participating resellers; inquiries invited).

The Procomp S-DCB/32E is specifically designed for performance in high-load
file server environments. It is architecturally optimized for NetWare(R)
mirroring and duplexing support with (included) Procomp DRAVADD and DRANLM
drivers; "DRA" identifies the exclusive Procomp Dynamic Read Ahead disk
access technology. It maintains 100% register level compatibility with the
Procomp M-DCB, M-DCB/2, F-DCB, F-DCB/2, S-DCB and Novell(R) DCB. The
S-DCB/32E supports SCSI II disconnect/reselect. And to make configuration
easier, the S-DCB/32E lets installers enable or disable a drive's SCSI
parity. Standard EISA setup utilities work for all board settings.

The S-DCB/32E is also a strong performer in other environments. Procomp
(working with Microsoft) has the unique status of being the only OS/2(R)
SCSI controller manufacturer supporting many large SCSI drives and HPFS in
this operating environment. Nothing else compares to its ability under LAN
Manager(R) to support so many large drives at once.

Procomp USA is a manufacturer of DCB (Disk Coprocessor Board) SCSI host
adapters and related products for PC-based network, stand-alone and
multi-user systems. It performs all manufacturing and sources all parts in
the USA and, to every extent possible, Northern Ohio.
