Advanced Gravis Introduces Gravis UltraSound MAX with 3D

Wave Table Synthesis Audio Board Features 16-Bit Recording, Focal Point 3D
Technology and SCSI Interface

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- May 24, 1993 -- Advanced Gravis has taken
wave table synthesis audio to a level to satisfy discriminating audio
enthusiasts, gamers, and musicians with the introduction of UltraSound MAX
with 3D, their latest addition to the UltraSound line of high quality
computer audio boards. The UltraSound MAX with 3D offers users 16-bit
professional recording capabilities along with CD-quality playback and
immersive 3D sound.

The UltraSound MAX board offers realistic sound reproduction based on the
digital sampling of real sounds. Gravis' choice of a high quality analog
to digital converter and low noise board design helps to reduce the hiss
and noise during recording, and puts the performance of the UltraSound MAX
at the level of professional audio boards typically costing hundreds of
dollars more. UltraSound MAX also offers three types of compression,
including ADCPM, A-Law, and 4:1 16-bit U-Law, which reduces the disk
space-crunch associated with digital recording by a factor of up to four.
Stereo 16-bit sampling rates of up to 48 kHz are supported.

The DOS and Windows 3.1 software installation is completely automatic. The
configuration talks users through the installation and set up. There are
no manual jumpers to set. Also included is Gravis' 3D software which puts
users in the middle of an aural virtual reality experience.

"The Gravis UltraSound MAX board will make professional quality recording
capabilities affordable to mass consumers as well as the musician," said
David Reid, vice president of marketing for Advanced Gravis. "The bonus
software Power Chords for Windows from Howling Dog and Midisoft Recording
Session for Windows further enhance UltraSound MAX's exceptional value."

The Gravis UltraSound MAX with 3D works with all 386 and higher IBM PCs and
compatibles. It features Standard MIDI support and comes with 256K of
on-board memory, which is expandable to one megabyte. Also included is a
standard SCSI interface which allows full support for double speed CD-ROM
drives. The suggested retail price of the Gravis UltraSound MAX with 3D is
$299.95 U. S.

In addition to UltraSound MAX with 3D and UltraSound, Gravis' 1 6-bit
CD-quality stereo sound cards featuring wave table synthesis and
recording, Advanced Gravis Computer Technology Ltd. also designs,
manufactures and markets high quality microcomputer input devices,
including the Gravis Analog Pro Joystick and GamePad for the IBM platform,
and the MouseStick II and GamePad for Macintosh.
