MEDIA VISION INTRODUCES ENTRY-LEVEL 16-BIT SOUND CARD

FREMONT, CALIF. -- JUNE 17, 1993 - Media Vision (MVIS:NASDAQ), a leader in
multimedia for personal computers, has today announced the Pro Audio 16
Basic, a new entry-level version of its Pro AudioSpectrum 16 add-in sound
card.

"This is the first time that PC-compatible computer users can add CD-Audio
quality sound to their computers for substantially less than $200." said
Paul Jain, Media Vision's president and CEO. "We expect the Pro Audio 16
Basic to sell for a street price of under $130. Until now, the only sound
boards which were offered at this price were our competitors'
lower-quality 8-bit products. Now there's no longer a reason to sacrifice
quality because of price."

Media Vision introduced the Pro AudioSpectrum 16 in March 1992. It was the
first 16-bit addin sound card available for under $350 (suggested retail
price) and is today the leading 16-bit sound card available. 16-bit audio
brings "CD-quality" sound to personal computers. Without some kind of
sound card, most existing PC-compatible computers can do little more than
beep. With the addition of such a sound card, audio elements of software
applications which use sound (such as music, voices, etc.) can be taken
advantage of.

Pro Audio 16 Basic Features

The Pro Audio 16 Basic is compliant with both the MPC (Multimedia Personal
Computer) and MPC2 standards. It offers 16-bit stereo digital audio
recording and playback to 44.1 KHz (CD-audio rates), an on-board
FM-synthesizer (Yamaha OPL-3), a software controlled mixer, MIDI support
and a game port.

Until recently, most sound cards have been quite difficult to install.
Because of the complexities of PC-compatible computers, a lot of
configuration has been required to allow the newly installed sound card to
work. However, like other Media Vision products, the Pro Audio 16 Basic
features QuickStart, an intelligent installation program which eliminates
the complex installation procedure usually associated with sound cards.

In addition, the Pro Audio 16 Basic features support for MS-DOS, Windows
3.1, Windows NT, OS2/2.1 and NextStep operating systems, and is 100
percent compatible with Pro AudioSpectrum 16. It is also backward
compatible with Sound Blaster and AdLib. The Pro Audio 16 Basic comes
bundled with MS-DOS and Windows software, including Media Vision's Pocket
Tools, which provide audio recording, editing, and mixing functionality
under Windows 3.1.

Included with the Pro Audio 16 Basic is Dinosaur Adventure from Knowledge
Adventure. This award-winning interactive title explores the prehistoric
era of dinosaurs through the use of full motion video and stereo sound.

Price and Availability

The Pro Audio 16 Basic is expected to be available in late June from
traditional computer retail outlets. Its suggested retail price will be
$199.
