Kingston Announces Innovative Bus Master Processor Upgrade For Micro
Channel Systems - The MCMaster

New York, NY, PC EXPO '93 -- Kingston Technology Corporation, (Fountain
Valley, Calif., PC EXPO Booth #2770), the recognized industry leader in
processor, memory, storage, networking and graphic upgrades, today
announced the MCMaster high performance bus master processor upgrade. The
MCMaster, the successor of the popular MicroMaster upgrade, provides a
comprehensive upgrade path for Micro Channel IBM PS/2 Micro Channel
systems by both enhancing processing performance and providing support for
additional RAM. Developed by Aox Incorporated, MCMaster will be
manufactured and marketed by Kingston Technology.

The MCMaster upgrades 386SX and 386DX-based Micro Channel PS/2 systems to
486SX and 486DX levels. Capable of co-existing with existing system
memory, the MCMaster also supports up to 64 Megabytes of 32-bit memory
plus 128KB cache memory all on-board. MCMaster features Aox's patented
caching system for overall improvements in memory performance. MCMaster
plugs easily into any available expansion slot, and takes about 10 minutes
to install.

"MCMaster perfectly rounds out our processor upgrade product line, enabling
us to offer any Micro Channel user a 486 upgrade," said Ron Seide,
Kingston's director of marketing. "As with all of Kingston's upgrade
products, the MCMaster offers premium performance without a premium
price."

The MCMaster is compatible with 1MB PS/2 Models 55, 56, 57, 65, 70, P70,
80, 90 and 95. As a bus master solution, it provides the only processor
upgrade path for 386SX-based PS/2 systems, since the original 386SX is
soldered onto the system board in these machines.

Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the MCMaster 486SX/25 MHz
is $795, the 486DX/33 MHz is $1,095. Both versions are scheduled to begin
shipping April 2. MCMaster compliments Kingston's processor upgrade line.
SX/Now! provides a 386SX upgrade on 286-based systems from manufacturers
such as IBM and Compaq. SLC/Now!, Kingston's IBM-designed solution,
converts IBM PS/2 Models 50, 50Z and 60 into 486 performers. Kingston's
486/Now! provides 486 performance on IBM 386DX-based PS/2 Models 70 and 80
plus Compaq Deskpro 386/16, 386/20, 386/20e, 386/25, 386/25e and 386/33
systems.
