IBM To Provide Maintenance Service For Kingston Technology Corporation's
Products

New York, PC EXPO -- IBM Corporation has, for the first time, agreed to
provide on-site service for non-IBM upgrade products. The agreement with
Kingston Technology (Fountain Valley, CA, Booth # 2770) allows for IBM's
service representatives to provide on-site service for the full range of
Kingston's IBM compatible memory, processor and storage upgrades.

All Kingston products, purchased on or after April 2,1993, and installed in
certain IBM systems currently under warranty or IBM, Compaq or Apple
systems currently under maintenance contract, will be covered for a period
of one year from the date of purchase. Customers will be able- to renew
Field Service Agreements for their Kingston Technology upgrade products
under IBM's extended maintenance service contract.

According to Burt Epstein, an IBM Product Planning Manager in System and
Operational Services, IBM PC products, RISC 6000 workstations and IBM
printers are covered under this agreement, as well as Lexmark or
HewlettPackard printers with a current IBM maintenance agreement. "IBM's
database will be updated to reflect the general availability of Kingston's
product lines. Our Customer Engineers (CEs) will be able to order
Kingston's parts just like IBM parts," said Epstein.

"With the new agreement, we will be able to provide our customers with the
mission critical support in the field that they require. That means less
down time, and that's critical." said Steven Weinberg, vice president of
sales for Kingston Technology.

"By signing this contract we are further solidifying our relationship with
IBM. Since Kingston Technology's products manufactured for IBM's machines
will be officially supported by IBM, users have the option to select these
products to upgrade their systems and feel secure in knowing that it won't
affect their current warranties or service contracts with 1MB," stated
Weinberg.

With annual sales over $250 million, Kingston Technology is the recognized
industry leader in memory, processor, networking, storage and graphics
upgrades for PCs, workstations and laser printers. According to Inc.
Magazine (Oct. 1992), Kingston is the fastest growing privately held
company in the United States. Kingston enjoys a 5A1 credit rating, the
highest rating awarded by Dun & Bradstreet. The firm markets its products
through a world-wide network of distributors, major reseller chains and
independent dealers.
