DPT Unveils Array Module and SCSI Storage Manager Software
New Products to Bring RAID Technology to the Masses

New York City, NY (6/29/93) -- Distributed Processing Technology (DPT)
today introduced two new products at the PC Expo show that will make it
easy for any user to tap into the power of SCSI and disk arrays with the
use of DPT's full line of SCSI host adapters.

The new DPT Array Module and SCSI Storage Manager software are the
industry's first products to simplify and combine the setup and
installation of Small Computer Systems Interface (SCSI) devices and
Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) subsystems. DPT is
demonstrating both products at PC Expo in Booth #4510.

"Our view is that all desktop and server class computers will employ some
form of disk array technology in the near future. Our new Array Module
provides the necessary hardware and our SCSI Storage Manager software
greatly simplifies the installation and management of these disk arrays
along with any other SCSI devices," says DPT President Steve Goldman. "By
combining the SCSI and RAID technologies, DPT is able to offer a range of
flexible, fault tolerant, high performance I/O solutions to our
customers."

* DPT's Array Module, an optional add-on hardware module for DPT SCSI host
adapters, supports RAID levels 0, 1 and 5. Such support brings high disk
performance, efficient data storage and disk fault tolerance to systems
ranging from stand-alone personal computers and networks to
multiprocessor-equipped file servers.

* DPT's SCSI Storage Manager software, to be included with DPT SCSI host
adapters, features a graphical user interface (GUI) and mouse support to
greatly simplify SCSI and RAID setup for even the most novice user. The
SCSI Storage Manager monitors and controls all of the SCSI hardware
attached to the DPT SCSI host adapter. It also offers remote
communications, diagnostics, and performance monitoring and tuning
functions. Additionally, the package is portable across a range of
operating systems, including DOS, OS/2, Windows, NetWare and UNIX. Its
interface also complies with the UNIX Motif GUI standard.

"These new products reflect DPT's goal of bringing RAID technology to the
masses," says David Race, DPT's vice president of marketing. "There's been
a lot of fear and uncertainty associated with SCSI and RAID, but our new
products will make it effortless for anyone to install, configure and
maintain their SCSI and RAID subsystems."

DPT's Array Module and SCSI Storage Manager software will be commercially
available in the third quarter of 1993. For more information, contact
DPT's Channel Marketing Department at (800) 322-4DPT.

DPT is a leading supplier of high performance peripheral controllers and
connectivity software for microcomputers. Its technology includes the
