Dolch Creates Direct Sales Channel

Direct Sales, Aggressive Prices, and Configured Systems Move Dolch Closer
to the Market

New York, New York, June 29, 1993--Dolch Computer Systems today announced
the creation of a direct sales channel for the company's lines of PAC,
S-PAC and MACH Power Portables and the PRISM series of overhead projection
panels. Concomitant with this major market thrust, Dolch is releasing the
MEDIAMACH family of presentation portables, the company's first ever fully
integrated computer systems. The company's concentration on a direct sales
channel and the bundling of complete systems is designed to move Dolch
closer to the customers and the market. "Major industry trends are now
dictating more competitive prices and a much better understanding of the
customer's requirements. The best way to achieve these ends is to sell
complete systems directly to the end user," said Volker Dolch, company
president.

Direct Sales Channel

For over six years, Dolch Computer Systems has marketed its power portables
through a combination of value added resellers, distributors, independent
representatives and a number of other non value added resellers. The move
to direct sales by major industry players has significantly increased
competitive pricing pressures in the market, making it difficult for all
but the high-end resellers to collect a reasonable fee for their services.
To combat these forces, Dolch has focused its captive sales force on OEM
corporate accounts, plus a select group of VARs who add significant value
to a Dolch power portable. This move has reduced street prices
significantly. For example, Dolch color portables were previously quoted
to the end user in the range of $10,000 to $15,000. The company can now
deliver 11 color models for under $7,000, with one STN model under $5,000.
Fully integrated MEDIAMACH power presentation systems begin at under
$10,000.

Integrated Systems

In order to move closer to the market and better understand customer
requirements, Dolch is now offering, for the first time, fully integrated
multimedia presentation portables. Based on the Company's scalable MACH
series, the new MEDIAMAcH systems come with all the necessary ingredients
for producing and showing high-end multimedia presentations that are an
enchanting mix of sound, graphics, animation and compressed video.
Corporate customers will no longer have to assemble their own systems or
purchase from third parties. They are now able to purchase systems
directly from Dolch--fully integrated, debugged and ready to run.
