KINGSTON TECHNOLOGY INTRODUCES DATA EXPRESS JUNIOR; REMOVABLE DISK
SUBSYSTEM

New York, NY PC EXPO '93 -- Kingston Technology (Fountain Valley, Calif.,
PC EXPO Booth #2770), the recognized industry leader in workstation memory
and storage products today announced the immediate availability of the
DE50 Data Express Junior, a removable Winchester 2.5" drive storage
enclosure that mounts in a 3.5" by 1" high peripheral bay. The DE50
provides users with a compact solution for storing and transferring high
capacity computer data.

Supporting industry-standard AT/IDE and SCSI 2.5" hard drives, the DE50 was
designed for security-sensitive applications or for easily transporting
computer data. A key lock prevents unauthorized removal or access to the
disk cartridge. As a security device, it enables the computer's data to be
physically removed and locked-up, thereby reducing the possibilities of
data theft. As a data sharing device, it provides users with the
capability to collect data at remote locations, and transport that data to
another location for processing and use.

Additionally, the Data Express Junior provides users the ability and
flexibility to install multiple operating systems such as UNIX, DOS or
OS/2, on a single PC or workstation. When the user leaves the office, the
computer data can be secured by simply removing the Data Express disk
cartridge and taking it home, or locking it up at the office.

"The Kingston Data Express Junior is an extremely flexible data storage
device that provides great benefits for both the value-added reseller and
systems integrator," stated John Sutherland, Kingston's Workstation
Products Group Manager. "Its support of SCSI or IDE interfaces make it a
viable add-on for virtually any type of PC or workstation. With storage
capacities of 200+ Megabytes now available in 2.5" disk drives, a solution
of this type delivers low cost-per-megabyte and faster seek times than
many other common data-storage devices."

Physically, the Data Express Junior includes a docking bay that installs in
a standard one inch high 3.5" peripheral bay, and a drive carrier which
acts as a removable drawer within the docking bay. The docking bay
contains the drive-to-computer electronics for the specified interface, a
high-reliability interface-connector for connection to the drive-carrier,
a power-supply connector, and an LED display that provides a numerical
readout of the disk-drive's address and disk-activity.

The DE50 Data Express Junior joins the Kingston family of storage products
which include the DE100 Data Express removable data-storage subsystem
based on 3-1/2" drives; the Data Silo, a line of SCSI enclosure cabinets;
and the Data Traveler, a portable, parallel port-based disk subsystem for
PCs. Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the Data Express
Junior is $200. Distribution discounts are available. MSRP for the DE100
Data Express Subsystem is $315. MSRP for the Data Silo and Data Traveler
start at $420 and $1,075 respectively. All of these products are shipping
now, and delivery is from stock.

With annual sales over $250 million, Kingston Technology is the recognized
leader in memory, processor, networking, storage and graphics upgrades for
PCs, workstations and laser printers.

According to Inc. Magazine (Oct. 1992), Kingston is the fastest growing
privately held company in the United States. Kingston enjoys a 5A1 credit
rating, the highest rating awarded by Dun & Bradstreet. The firm markets
its products through a world-wide network of distributors, major reseller
chains and independent dealers.
