PANTONE PROCESS Color System Supported in 13 Leading Graphics Applications

New Proponents Include AGFA, Aldus, Corel, Gold Disk, Linotype-Hell and
Serif

Carlstadt, New Jersey -- June 14, 1993 -- Pantone, Inc. today announced
that six new companies will incorporate the PANTONE PROCESS Color System
in the latest revisions of their drawing, paint, layout and type programs.
Recognizing the need to include the PANTONE PROCESS Color System in their
software, AGFA, Aldus, Corel, Gold Disk, Linotype-Hell and Serif join
existing system proponents Adobe, Bitstream, Deneba, Multi-Ad Service,
Quark and Ventura.

In May, AGFA began shipping Catalyst 2.1 with the PANTONE PROCESS Color
System. Available in June, Aldus' PageMaker 5.0 will incorporate the
PANTONE PROCESS Color System in both the Windows and Macintosh versions of
the product. Corel is providing support for the PANTONE PROCESS Color
System in the latest release of COREL DRAW! version 4.0. In addition, both
Aldus and Corel are including literature on the PANTONE PROCESS Color
System in their packaging in an effort to help users understand how to use
the System to their advantage. Other companies adding the PANTONE PROCESS
Color System in the latest revisions of their applications are Gold Disk
in Professional Draw, Linotype-Hell in ChromaCom and Serif in PagePlus for
Windows.

"As four-color process printing has become more accessible and affordable,
the need to specify process colors has grown exponentially. The PANTONE
PROCESS Color System addresses this growing need by providing a
well-rounded, comprehensive collection of process colors," said Richard
Herbert, vice president of Pantone's Electronic Color Systems Division.
"The PANTONE PROCESS Color System offers a wide choice of colors easily
achievable with four-color process printing. This enables users who are
working in four-color process to add an accent color without paying for a
fifth (or sixth) color."

In addition to the new PANTONE PROCESS Color System supporters, Adobe,
Deneba and Quark have announced added support for the system. Adobe
recently announced Photoshop 2.5 for the Windows platform and Deneba
introduced Canvas for Windows which, like their Macintosh counterparts,
now include the PANTONE PROCESS Color System. The latest release of
QuarkXPress, version 3.2, also includes support for the System.

"We use the PANTONE PROCESS Color System exclusively because that's the way
printers are set up to handle color. It's a question of not wanting
surprises. Using the same vocabulary to communicate color from the desktop
to the service bureau to the printer is a real value; it helps us to
maintain consistency and avoid costly mistakes. We click on the
corresponding PANTONE Number for the color we want and we know that's what
we are going to get," said Michael Toomey of Fiorentino Associates in New
York.

"It's nice to have a system that is supported by multiple software
applications; that way I know the colors will be accurate from application
to application. For example, if I am working with a set of colors in Quark
and I know I can get the same colors in Photoshop, that's a plus," said
Ron Meckler of Re:Design in Manhattan, New York.

With more than 3,000 digitally-created and chromatically-arranged
combinations of cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), the PANTONE
PROCESS Color System is the most comprehensive process color system
available. All colors are specified in screen percentages that can be
easily achieved using either electronic or traditional printing methods,
so users can count on accuracy when selecting a color from the System.

Pantone, Inc., the leading source of products for the accurate
communication of color, is the developer of the world-renowned PANTONE
MATCHING SYSTEM and the PANTONE PROCESS Color System, two distinct global
languages for color specification and reproduction. The PANTONE MATCHING
SYSTEM has been widely accepted and utilized by designers and printers
since 1963, and is currently in use in almost 100 countries throughout the
world. The PANTONE PROCESS Color System, introduced in 1991, now sets the
worldwide standard for process color reproduction. Both systems are
available in a wide variety of formats, including printed and electronic
media. Pantone, Inc. is headquartered in Carlstadt, New Jersey.
