NANAO Introduces New 17-inch Ultra High Resolution Monitor
New F560iW proves its superiority by reaching a higher level!

June 28, 1993 -- TORRANCE, CA -- NANAO USA CORPORATION ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT
IT WILL RELEASE another energy-saving monitor -- the 17 inch FLEXSCAN
F560iW. The brand new monitor is similar to its sibling, the 17-inch
F550iW, but now allows professional users to obtain higher resolution at a
finer dot pitch.

Ultimate Power for Today's Professional

The brand new F560iW was developed to meet the needs of users seeking
optimum Windows performance and detailed graphics in DTP applications.
With a 30 to 82 kHz horizontal and 55 to 90 Hz vertical scanning
frequencies, the F560iW can display non-interlaced images at resolutions
of 1280 x 1024 at 76 Hz refresh rate.

The F560iW has a 0.26mm dot pitch Invar Shadow Mask CRT to ensure better
focus and sharpness across the increased display area. This powerful
capability enables the F560iW to display a high resolution at a
non-flicker refresh rate due to its flat-square tube. The F560iW is an
ideal choice for today's high end professional users.

Other Key Features

The F560iW utilizes the newly developed ErgoCoat anti-reflective coating.
This CRT not only eliminates reflection of ambient illumination, but also
improves the focus level on the entire display area. Now, users can enjoy
images with clarity and focus.

With WideView, the F560iW can display edge-to-edge images both horizontally
and vertically. This means the monitor can provide larger images with no
unused screen area between the image and the monitor bezel. Thus, the user
enjoys a significantly larger active display area.

To correct the deflection distortion of an electron beam spot, the Dynamic
Focus and Dynamic Beam Spot Control System has been applied to the F560iW.
This system eliminates the halo around each electron beam spot, resulting
in superior spot shape and size, and marked improvements in both
resolution and convergence over the entire screen.

The "W" in the F560iW stands for the new "wedge" design Nanao has adopted
for their monitors. The new streamlined design includes recessed inputs
and cuts down on excess cabinet space in the rear of the monitor.

The F560iW includes the same advanced features as its siblings, all of
which have made Nanao monitors the best in its category. To address
today's environmental concerns, Ecological Design has been implemented on
the F560iW.

Ecological Design

As the first monitor vendor to join the EPA Energy Star Program, Nanao
continues its development of monitors that not only have first-rate
display but also implement key ergonomic and ecological features. Nanao's
concerns are to provide a healthy working environment and to minimize
power consumption.

Like its predecessors, the F550iW and the F760iW, the F560iW comes with the
unique power saving system: the AutoPower ON/OFF and the PowerManager
feature.

The Auto-Power ON/OFF feature monitors the video signal from the computer.
With its Power Save button ON, the monitor's power starts automatically
when the computer is switched on. Conversely, when the computer is shut
off, the monitor automatically powers down to stand-by mode which consumes
less than 8% of the total power of its normal operation.

The PowerManager feature interacts with the screen saver software. With the
Power Save button ON, PowerManager is automatically activated when the
blank screen of the screen saver appears. The power consumption during
this feature is less than 8% of the total power consumption.

Ecological Design is also compatible with most Energy Star computer
systems, including those offered by ALR, Insight, Intel, and USA Teknik.

Ecological Design can have a positive effect on your savings as well as the
environment. E Source, an energy research group in Boulder, Colorado,
reported the annual utility bill savings per each 17 inch monitor to be
$63.00. That would equal a savings of $3,150.00/yr. for 50 F560iW
monitors!

Advanced Display Technology from NANAO

Compatibility and Agency Approval

The F560iW is compatible with VGA, Super VGA, 8514/A, TIGA, IGA and ultra
high resolution graphics controllers for MS/PC-DOS PCs, and
MacII/MacII-compatible and Mac Quadra video cards. The F560iW is FCC Class
B-approved and comply with the Swedish MPR II guidelines.

Ergonomic, Intelligent Advanced Image Control System

The F560iW features Nanao's unique Advanced Image Control System, with all
its controls located in the front for easy access.

The controls on the F560iW are intelligent, built around a digital control
system with a microprocessor and memory that stores information on screen
configurations and display modes set by the user. Up to 28 different
signal combinations may be programmed by the user. When it is switched on,
the F560iW will automatically recall the setting for different signal
sources.

A manual degauss button is also conveniently located in the front control
panel to aid the users in eliminating magnetic interference.

The Advanced Image Control System also incorporates the color control
technology that allows users to vary the intensities of three electron
guns within the CRT. It also offers the users the option to change the
color temperatures on the screen from the factory preset of 9300 degrees K
to 6500 degrees K with a natural paper white color. Users now can take
full advantage of the WYSIWYG technology.

The F560iW is also incorporated with the Saddle/Saddle Deflection Yoke.
This Yoke reduces leakage of low frequency magnetic fields and minimizes
the interference between two monitors. Users can operate two Nanao
monitors placed only a mere six inches apart in distance. In contrast, the
operating distance required by other adjacent displays without the Yoke is
24 inches.

Versatility

The F560iW features a rear-mounted standard 9-pin D-sub and BNC connectors
for both analog and high-frequency analog input. This choice between
connections offers versatility by being able to connect the monitors to
two computers or two display adapters.

Availability and Warranty

The Flexscan F560iW will be available for shipment in Mid-August for a
suggested retail price of $1,699.00. The F560iW is covered by Nanao's
one-year warranty on parts and labor.
