BORLAND ANNOUNCES BORLAND C++ FOR WIN32 EARLY EXPERIENCE PROGRAM
Company Announces Program for Microsoft NT and Win32s Developers

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- May 18, 1993 -- Borland International Inc.
(NASDAQ:BORL) today announced the availability of Borland C++ for Win32
through its Early Experience Program (EEP). The announcement was made at
the fourth annual Borland International Conference and Exposition being
held here this week at the San Diego Convention Center.

The Borland C++ for Win32 EEP gives software programmers early access to
pre-release beta software tools capable of developing applications for
32-bit Microsoft Windows. Borland C++ for Win32 runs under both Windows
and Windows NT. The product allows 32-bit Windows executables to run under
Windows 3.1 using Win32s as well as on NT. Thus, applications created can
readily run on the millions of personal computers running Windows 3.1.

Major features of the release include full C++ exception handling and
ObjectWindows 2.0, providing a robust, safe application framework for
Windows and NT. ObjectWindows 2.0 greatly enhances the capabilities of
ObjectWindows 1.0, the most widely used framework for creating Windows
applications.

"Having shipped more than one million copies of C++, Borland is the leading
supplier of professional development tools for DOS, Windows and OS/2,"
said Paul Gross, director of Borland Languages research and development.
"Exception handling and ObjectWindows 2.0 elevate the Borland tools to a
new level of professional productivity."

Borland plans to ship several releases of the compiler and tools during the
duration of the Borland C++ for Win32 EEP. Subsequent releases will add
new tools and technology and will update the software to track new
releases of the Windows NT beta. EEP participants will receive a free copy
of the shipping product at the end of the EEP program. Borland C++ for
Win32 is scheduled to ship about 12 weeks after the commercial ship date
of Windows NT.

The cost of the Borland C++ for Win32 EEP is $299.95. To enroll in EEP an
application and non-disclosure agreement must be completed. Participants
must also be part of Microsoft's NT beta program. EEP software is only
delivered on CD ROM. For more information, call (408) 431-5172, fax a
request to (408) 439-9343, or download the request from CompuServe.
