Pantone Showcases "Totally Excellent" Software at PC Expo

Presentation playing off of "Wayne's World" emphasizes program's simplicity
and flexibility

New York, NY (PC EXPO Booth # 101) -- June 29, 1993 -- This week at PC
Expo, Pantone, Inc. will showcase its new software product, ColorUP.
Pantone will be assisted by Dwayne and Barth, renowned stars of the hit
show "Dwayne's World." ColorUP, which began shipping in April 1993, is an
intuitive color software utility that helps business professionals add
high-impact color to their graphics presentations and reports. With the
help of Dwayne and Barth, Pantone will demonstrate just how easy ColorUP
is to use, and how effective it can be for anyone creating color
presentations.

"ColorUP is the incredibly cool tool that lets any business dude use color
like a pro," said Dwayne. "It gives them the capability to add a real
professional touch of color to their presentation graphics. It's like
being magically transformed into a graphics professional."

Dwayne and Barth will help demonstrate ColorUP in the Pantone booth every
day throughout the Expo and will distribute ColorUP hats at each
presentation. Each day they will send scouts around the show floor to find
people wearing ColorUP hats. Those selected will be awarded a free copy of
ColorUP.

"ColorUP consists of two totally excellent components," said Barth. "First
there's the ColorUP Palette Chooser, with a mega-complete library of
designer-created color palettes that you can use with graphics you've made
in business presentation software programs like Harvard Graphics,
Freelance and others. What's even more cool is the fact that the palettes
are media-sensitive. You know, optimized for like slides, color hardcopy,
transparencies and even for computer screen shows. Then, as a bonus,
there's the ColorUP Explorer filled with cool information and
experiments."

Dwayne, on Explorer, "It can teach you all about color theory, color
harmony, color reproduction, and a bunch of other stuff. Explorer is a
self-guided adventure that provides hands-on experiments on how to use
color, as well as lots of tips that help you use color more effectively in
your business presentations and reports. It's part of ColorUP so, of
course, it's simple to use."

ColorUP is a valuable add-on utility for people who already have or are
considering purchasing business presentation software. ColorUP offers a
wide range of pre-designed color palettes and the ability to add PANTONE
Colors to presentation visuals created in the leading business graphics
software. The palettes are ready-to-use and can be exported to popular
Windows and Macintosh business presentation software packages such as
Harvard Graphics for Windows, Lotus Freelance for Windows, Microsoft
PowerPoint and Excel, Aldus Persuasion, Micrografx Charisma and Claris
Hollywood. The software also provides support for drawing programs
including Adobe Illustrator, Aldus FreeHand and Corel Draw.

ColorUP features more than 1,500 color palettes created by professional
designers for business graphic users. These color palettes not only work
well together, but have been thoroughly tested for the primary forms of
output media (35mm slides, transparencies, screen shows and color
hardcopy).

ColorUP Explorer is a self-guided "encyclopedia" of color, filled with
interactive color visualization experiments. ColorUP Explorer offers
hands-on experience through visual demonstrations of various color
concepts such as dithering, printer reproduction and RGB and CMYK color
models. Some of the topics covered include the science of color, color
psychology and even tips on how to get the most out of color when creating
business presentation graphics.

Pantone, Inc., the leading source of products for the accurate
communication of color, is the developer of the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM
and the PANTONE Process Color System, two distinct global languages for
graphics color specification and reproduction. The PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM
has been widely accepted and utilized by designers and printers since
1963, and is currently in use in nearly 100 countries throughout the
world. The PANTONE Process Color System, introduced in 1991, now sets the
worldwide standard for process color reproduction. Both systems are
available in a wide variety of formats, including printed and electronic
media. Pantone, Inc. is headquartered in Carlstadt, New Jersey.
