                      Lexis - Shareware version 1.1

Compared with the previous version, more accurate search is performed
and less memory is needed. Data formats are unchanged (and won't be).
If you have the previous version installed, install the new one to
your Lexis directory for EVERY language in use. Please email me your
  comments and suggestions.

The program allows annotating words of foreign texts with translations
and checking them in both directions. Translations are checked within
the context of the sentence that contains the translated words.
The translated parts can be words, phrases, separable or phrasal verbs.
Previously translated and checked sentences are stored for subsequent
automatic referencing when related words are occured.
You can use electronic texts (mostly) or enter them by hand.
Some form of facilitating access to an usual dictionary is provided,
although with prior efforts of a particular user.
The purpose of this program is to help its users to enlarge their
vocabulary through reading texts of their choice with relatively large
amount of unknown words and to use their previous work in the future
  translations by automatic referencing.
User mother tongue can be English, French, German, Hebrew or Russian.
It can be relatively easily adjusted.
Foreign language for learning can be English, French or German. For
these languages the program is able to find related words for regular
and irregular verbs in different conjugations, nouns in different
declensions and so on, although some reservations ought to be made
due to heuristic nature of the algorithms.
The program is virtually independent of what letters your computer
can display. But for the English keyboard some keys are redefined or
introduced to cope with German and French - see help in the program.
In this shareware version the maximal number of excerpts is limited
to 64, that allows you to accumuate 400-800 translations. In the
registered version the number is 100+ times larger.
