Documentation for the (Inter)Net Fix Program
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This program will change GIFs so that they can be viewed properly
on Netscape and other web browsers, by changing the transparency bit
in the Control Extension code and setting the background color.
The command line is simple:
NETFIX <GIF filename> [background color]
A background color is optional, but if no color number is entered
(from 0-255), the program will attempt to find out the background color
for itself. If this doesn't work, you'll need to figure out what the
"transparent" color is and enter it manually. (See "Tips" below.)
<GIF filename> is any GIF 89a-type GIF. (Previous GIF versions do not
have support for transparency.)
Tips:
~~~~~
 If the NetFix program doesn't appear to work right away, you or
the program may have chosen the wrong background color. To fix this,
make sure of the following things:

1) Before creating a GIF, make sure the entire GIF is filled with the
   background color before putting anything on to it. Most graphics
   programs allow you to choose a background color.

2) If you choose your own background color (it is usually 0), make
   sure the number you enter on the command line (see above) is the
   correct color #. Again, most graphics programs allow you to choose
   the number of the background color.
