WATCOM ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH DIGITAL FOR ALPHA AXP DEVELOPMENT TOOLS

San Jose, Calif., March 15,1994 -- WATCOM International, a subsidiary of
Powersoft Corporation, today announced an agreement with Digital Equipment
Corporation to develop and market a version of WATCOM's 32-bit
multi-platform C/C++ development package for Digital's Alpha AXP processor
with the Windows NT operating system. This will enable the development of
applications for Alpha AXP/Windows NT from a number of host environments,
and the use of Alpha AXP/Windows NT as a host development system for other
Windows NT environments.

"We quickly identified the need for WATCOM's multi-platform compilers in
the Alpha AXP/Windows NT environment based on input from our customers and
key independent software vendors," said Edmund H. Muth, Digital's
Worldwide Director, Windows NT Program Office. "WATCOM's code quality and
cross-platform capabilities are key features that we want to deliver for
the Alpha AXP/Windows NT environment."

WATCOM intends to deliver the components of its new WATCOM C/C++ 10.0, also
announced today, on the Alpha AXP/Windows NT environment, including
WATCOM's new C++ class browser, advanced GUI debugger, text editor,
profiler and other tools.
