Van Nostrand Reinhold Presents New Book To Help Programmers
Develop Quick and Efficient OS/2 Business Applications

OS/2 CORPORATE PROGRAMMER'S HANDBOOK
By Nora Scholin, Martin Sullivan and Robin Scragg

The OS/2 2.1 Corporate Programmer's Handbook provides all the instruction
and working code samples needed to build efficient os/2 applications.

Designed and organized as a quick reference guide, the book, just released
by Van Nostrand Reinhold, enables programmers to write and implement
useful new applications immediately. It offers strategies, tips and
techniques that cut design time--even for first-time users of OS/2.

The handbook is divided into four sections. Part One contains tips on
installing and using OS/2 2.1, including details on compiling applications
and printing. Parts Two and Three walk the user through the application
design process by describing the important concepts and components, and
then demonstrating how applications can be assembled using simple modules.
Part Four provides a reference section with information on OS/2 functions,
which are listed by category for easy referral.

Also included is a complete glossary of terms, a thorough index, and a
diskette with sample applications and the modules described throughout the
book. These modules can be modified by the user.

The authors have verified the book content with OS/2 developers and select
authorities in the field to ensure reliable results. They have included
current OS/2 screen formats to make it easier for the reader to follow.

Nora Scholin is a technical writer and editor who authored three device
driver reference books for IBM's OS/2 Technical Library and IBM's new OS/2
2.1 Command Reference. Martin Sullivan is a consultant for IBM and a
member of the OS/2 development team, specializing in display drivers for
the OS/2 operating system. Rohin Scragg was a member of the IBM team that
installed and tested updates to OS/2 2.0.

Since its founding in 1948, Van Nostrand Reinhold (VNR) has pioneered the
publication of high-quality engineering, technical and scientific
reference books. VNR's computer book group, founded in 1978, publishes an
extensive list of timely, high-level technical books for computer
