TerraLogics, Inc. and Strategic Mapping Announce Alliance

Two Mapping Leaders Join Forces to Broaden Use of Embedded Mapping and Data
in Business Intelligence Applications

LOWELL, MA, February 4, 1994 -- TerraLogics, Inc, the leader in embedded
mapping technology and Strategic Mapping, Inc. of Santa Clara, CA, the
leading supplier of desktop mapping and business data today announced a
strategic partnership to address the growing market for geographic data
visualization. Under the terms of the agreement, TerraLogics, Inc. and
Strategic Mapping will engage in joint technology and marketing programs
designed to make geographic data more accessible for business intelligence
applications.

The two companies offer a natural synergy for business map users.
TerraLogics' embedded map technology, TerraView, is a software development
kit that allows application developers to embed geographic maps directly
into the source code of applications developed in the Microsoft Windows,
Apple Macintosh, UNIX environments. Strategic Mapping produces a variety
of standalone mapping products including Atlas GIS for Windows, a
full-function desktop GIS package. As a result of its recent acquisition
of Donnelley Marketing Information Services from Dun & Bradstreet,
Strategic Mapping also offers the broadest selection of digital geographic
files and attribute data, including detailed US and world geography and
demographic, business, and vertical market attribute data.

According to Matthew Goldworm, President and Founder of TerraLogics, "This
partnership is strategic for both organizations because the combined
offerings will bring geographic data visualization to a whole new level.
On its own, the TerraView engine is a very powerful tool for the creation
of mapping applications. But when you add the content of Strategic
Mapping's data products, the information value increases tenfold.

Steve Poizner, President of Strategic Mapping adds, "Attribute data, such
as business and population demographics has the most value when it's
accessible and easy to use. Technology should make it easier for decision
makers to interpret the meaning of data sets. TerraView is the vehicle for
embedding our data products into business intelligence applications."

Companies such as IRI Software, a leading provider of Business Intelligence
solutions, see immediate benefits from the new relationship. "We recently
embedded the TerraView functionality into our DataServer family of
products," said Robert Post, Director of Business Development at IRI. "We
have an excellent business relationship with both TerraLogics and
Strategic Mapping. We chose the TerraView technology because it is the
best approach for our customer base. In addition, we were impressed with
the range of data products offered by Strategic Mapping. We are very
excited to hear that the two companies are focusing on their respective
strengths and we intend to leverage the new relationship in meeting the
sales and marketing analysis requirements of our customers."

The TerraView software development kit, first introduced in 1990, includes
a C-language subroutine library that supports seamless integration of maps
with development environments such as Powersoft's PowerBuilder, GUPTA's
SQLWindows, Lotus Notes, Microsoft's Visual C++ and C/C++, and Borland's
C++ applications. It is also available for the Apple Macintosh and UNIX
environments. In addition to IRI, the TerraView mapping technology is
being used by Pilot Software, the Price Waterhouse Group, Reuben H.
DoMelley, Rockwell International and other software publishers, systems
integrators, and Value Added Resellers.

Strategic Mapping is a leading resource for key geodemographic and
segmentation information products and services, providing application
solutions in the areas of site selection, target marketing, market
analysis, media planning, and direct marketing.

TerraLogics Inc., headquartered in Lowell, Mass., is the leading provider
