KnowledgeWare Announces ObjectView Support for Oracle Workgroup Server

SAN JOSE, Calif. (March 15, 1994) -- KnowledgeWare, Inc. today announced
that it plans to extend ObjectView's broad support of scalable
client/server environments to include the Oracle Workgroup Server.
ObjectView is KnowledgeWare's intuitive visual development environment for
rapidly creating high-performance client/server applications. ObjectView's
open and portable architecture increases developer productivity with
extensive automatic and built-in capabilities for development teams of
virtually any size.

The two companies are identifying a variety of marketing, distribution and
product options specifically designed for departmental application
environments targeted by the Oracle Workgroup Server. ObjectView supports
the development of scalable client/server applications, from decision
support and departmental applications to data-intensive, online systems
that are critical to an enterprise. To develop and deploy rightsized
applications, ObjectView is scalable across all Oracle databases including
Oracle Workgroup Server, OracleWare and Oracle7.

"ObjectView provides developers with an exceptionally easy to learn and use
environment for building innovative and highly-responsive applications,"
explained Donald P. Addington, KnowledgeWare president and chief operating
officer. "We are excited about working with Oracle to provide a very
productive and powerful environment that is scaled specifically for
developing, deploying and maintaining departmental applications."

ObjectView will directly access the Oracle Workgroup Server through
Oracle's native API. In addition, the ObjectView Workgroup Library will
transparently reside on the Oracle Workgroup Server as well as Oracle7
Server. The ObjectView Workgroup Library is an advanced environment that
provides teams of developers with concurrent real-time access to
application objects and components to facilitate easier re-use, greater
flexibility and enhanced productivity. ObjectView Personal/SQL will
provide point-and-click access for queries and reports to the Oracle
Workgroup Server.

"We are delighted to work with KnowledgeWare--the combination of the
outstanding ObjectView tool set and our new Workgroup Server provides the
ideal environment for quickly developing applications," said Nimish Mehta,
vice president, Desktop Products, Oracle. "Our relationship with
KnowledgeWare is not only a benefit to us, but clearly is also beneficial
to the development community in general."

In addition to Oracle databases, ObjectView supports more than 75
relational and non-relational databases through direct and middleware
access. ObjectView 3.0 is currently available. The ObjectView 3.0
Developer Edition is priced at $2,899; Workgroup Library is priced at
$699; Personal/SQL is included with the Developer Edition or stand alone
for $149.
