Brio Technology Joins Forces with Oracle to Support new Oracle Workgroup
Server

Brio Technology will work with Oracle on cooperative marketing programs,
shared distribution channels and products that are optimized for the
workgroup.

San Jose, Calif, March 15, 1994 -- Brio Technology, Inc. welcomes the
Oracle Workgroup Server and announces that Brio will partner with Oracle
to ensure the rapid adoption of this new server. The Workgroup Server from
Oracle, combined with Brio's complete suite of desktop data access tools,
brings a powerful, scalable, and affordable SQL development solution to a
new class of users. Brio and Oracle have agreed to actively cooperate in 3
strategic areas: joint marketing, sales and development initiatives Brio
will work with Oracle to optimize Brio's data access products for the
Workgroup Server, share sales channels, and develop joint promotions and
marketing programs during 1994.

"This workgroup server from Oracle is a significant milestone in the
evolution of shared databases. Now developers of workgroup solutions have
a choice - either trap valuable corporate information in overgrown desktop
databases or create scalable applications based on this Workgroup Server
and get full Oracle flexibility and accessibility for the future. We
expect that workgroup customers who chose the latter option will benefit
from Brio's rapid development tools and ad hoc data access tools " said
Yorgen H Edholm, President of Brio Technology.

DataEdit is Brio's rapid client/server application development tool that
allows both Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows users to build
forms-based applications for networked SQL databases. "DataEdit is the
ideal development tool for Oracle's Workgroup Server. DataEdit provides
the ase-of-use of a stand-alone desktop database product while delivering
all the benefits of the high-performance, multi-user databases available
today" continued Mr. Edholm. "Workgroups that have outgrown their single
user databases and are moving up to Oracle's Workgroup Server will find
DataEdit's streamlined and sophisticated development process perfect for
all their application development projects."

DataPrism, Brio's ad hoc query tool, is the perfect cross-platform solution
for quick and easy access to relational databases. Since 1990, DataPrism
has allowed end users to retrieve information from the leading SQL
databases. Brio plans to work with Oracle to ensure that DataPrism takes
advantage of the unique features of the Workgroup Server.
