SAN JOSE, Calif., March 15, 1994 -- ANSWER:Zim 5.0, a professional software
development solution for complex database applications, will be released
this month by the Sterling Software Applications Management Division,
Chatsworth, California. Sterling announced this new product at the
Software Development '94 / Business Software Solutions Conference and
Exhibition, held at the San Jose Convention Center, March 15 - 17. The new

scalability and ease-of-use without sacrificing the control needed by
professional database application developers.

ANSWER:Zim provides software developers, working in Microsoft Windows, with
a flexible way to create applications which will run in Windows and other
environments including MS-DOS and UNIX. ANSWER:Zim provides developers
with an innovative soludon which focuses on meeting complex business needs
with a logical programming design that is independent of the user
interface. This makes it possible to develop applications in Windows for
deployment in both graphical and character-based environments using the
same process codes.

"ANSWER:Zim is designed to meet the needs of professional software
developers who asked us for a product capable of doing more than the
typical Windows database frontends with their userinterface driven
approaches," said Carole Morton, president of Sterling's Applications
Management Division.

Multi-platform Development

ANSWER:Zim offers special features for developers working in multi-platform
environments. It enables programmers to develop, deploy and maintain
applications with full source portability under different operating
systems and on many hardware platforms.

"If your environment includes UNIX and Windows, for example, your
applications will have a similar look and feel within the limits of your
local hardware," said J. Paul Haynes, president of J.P. Haynes &
Associates Inc., of Ontario, Canada "This new version of ANSWER:Zim will
be ideal for our company because we are developing applicadons that run
under Windows, DOS and UNIX. Regardless of the hardware, software or user
interface, the ANSWER:Zim code remains essentially the same. This enables
us to focus on the business strategy and logical design of the software
application without getting lost in a jumble of different codes for
different platfoIms and environments."
