San Jose, Calif., March 15,1994 -- WATCOM International, a subsidiary of
Powersoft Corporation, today announced its intention to develop a version
of the WATCOM 32-bit multiplatform C/C++ development tools for the PowerPC

the PowerPC with Workplace OS from a number of host environments, and the
use of Workplace OS as a host development system for other target
environments.

"Our users and resellers have expressed the need for WATCOM's
multi-platform compilers in the Workplace OS environment," said Miles
Barel, Workplace OS Brand Manager. "IBM and WATCOM are working closely to
enable these new development tools to fully exploit the PowerPC and
Workplace OS."

WATCOM intends to deliver the components of its new WATCOM C/C++ 10.0
product, also announced today, on the PowerPC with Workplace OS, including
WATCOM's new C++ class browser, advanced GUI debugger, profiler and other
tools.

"We're excited about the potential of Workplace OS, particularly as a
platform for our development tools," said Ian McPhee, president of WATCOM.
"The PowerPC performance and multiple execution environments of Workplace
OS promise a very attractive environment for our cross-platform compilers
and graphical development environment."
