OpenObjects announces an "object centric" animation tool for C++ programs
called Look!

Boston, MA, January 11, 1994. OpenObjects today is announcing the
availability of Look!, a true object-oriented software tool that creates
an "object centric" dynamic animation of a C++ program while the code
actually executes. "Look! is one of the most exciting new C++ productivity
tools available today for programmers, team leaders, and trainers", stated
Bill Baloglu, Technology Vice President of OpenObjects. "Look! is the
first animation tool that Is object centric and can "look" Inside your C++
program as It actually executes. This animation allows you to cut through
the complexity of C++ by showing intuitive graphical views of your
object-oriented program operating".

Look! is compatible with most client/server environments in that Look! is
available for both Windows and UNIX platforms and supports most popular C
and C++ compilers and development environments. Stephen Speirs, a program
manager at Sun Microsystems, says that: "Look!'s one of the most exciting
and useful programmer tools we have seen and used in the last 5 years".

Look! Is critical to building high quality applications. When using the C++
object-oriented language, many times there exists some very difficult
"pitfalls" in your programs that are hard to uncover and therefore causes
frustration in attaining the level of desired quality. Ms Beate
Billington, a Perkin-Elmer development manager, states: "We could not
locate and eliminate our memory problems so rapidly if it was not for
Look!... There is nothing like it in the Windows world".

Look! is available now for both Windows at $495 single copy price and for
UNIX at $1,995 single copy price.

Look! allows the developer to quickly understand new C++ programs and class
libraries while also debugging the most difficult C++ code. Since
object-oriented C++ programs consist of interacting objects, it just makes
sense to take advantage of the object model and view your program as
active object design diagrams rather than viewing highly structured C++
programs as lines of text like many C++ tools. Using a unique monitoring
system, Look! extracts the object and class design-level information
embodied in a C++ program and uses it to generate active object, class,
and message-view diagrams. "Look! has given us a new level of C++
productivity. We do not know what we would have done without Look!",
commented Phil Duke of the Financial Times.

Look! was developed over the past few years by Objective Software
Technology Ltd. (OST) In Livingston, Scotland. OST has been funded by
private industry and development grants from the Scotland Government. OST
launched Look! into the European market over the past few months with
unprecedented success. OpenObJects is now launching Look! in the North
American and Pacific Rim markets.

Look! is a single product that can address the C++ developers need to
increase their own personal productivity, leverage the reusability of
existing code/class libraries, and increase the quality of their programs
while being compatible with their existing development environment. "If I
was allowed to purchase only one C++ tool, I would buy Look!", stated Pete
Dion, a development manager at British Telecom.

OpenObJects is committed in establishing a leadership position as a
marketing and support organization for object-oriented productivity
software products to both key industry and geographic markets worldwide.
OpenObJects will continue to enhance their product offerings with
additional object-oriented products which will be selected from both
independent technology development companies worldwide as well as products
originating within the MIS organizations of companies who do not have the
ability or interest in marketing products outside of their own
organizations. OpenObjects assumes the responsibility of fully supporting
these products which includes quality assurance, documentation,
maintenance, training and consulting.
