ROY, Utah, May 4, 1992 -- Iomega Corp. and Stac Electronics have teamed up
to offer larger and more accessible storage capacities to Bernoulli users.
Typically, the new data compression software, Stacker for Iomega, will
double the capacity of the 90-megabyte (MB) Bernoulli disk to 180
megabytes. This version of the popular Stacker software has been
especially enhanced for use with the Bernoulli disk and is available only
with Iomega interface kits for DOS computers. Transparent to users, the
new product will give DOS personal computer users increased on-line
storage and simple, accessible backup. The new product will be supported
by Iomega.

"The increased storage capacity, which Stacker for Iomega offers, will be
especially useful for end users who work with Windows, multimedia and
graphics applications," said Mike Joseph, vice president of marketing for
Iomega. "Stacker also gives the Bernoulli drive an even greater ability to
act as an additional hard drive. This offers users expandable storage and
reliable, secure backup."

"High density removable media is becoming more prevalent in the personal
computer market," said Steve Tobak, director of OEM sales for Stac
Electronics. "The automount feature now allows Stacker to double the
capacity of removable storage just as easily and transparently as for hard
disks. By merging two award-winning products, Stacker for Iomega has
significantly expanded the applications for Bernoulli disk products."

"Stacker for Iomega makes it easier for users to access their data. In the
past when users wanted to compress 180MB of data on to a 90MB Bernoulli
for backup, they had to use a back-up program that stored data in a
special format," said Larry Holmstrom, director of business development
for Iomega. "This format could not be used directly by the computer, but
needed to be restored back to the user's hard drive. Stacker for Iomega,
coupled with Iomega's OAD Speed Cache Plus, allows compressed data to be
accessed directly off the Bernoulli disk at a performance rate near that
of a hard drive."

Stacker creates special volumes on the 90MB Bernoulli disk. When users wish
to access their data, an automount option allows the Stacker volumes to be
mounted automatically when users insert a disk into the Bernoulli drive.
Users can then access data off the 180MB back-up disk as they would a
normal 90MB disk.

A Bernoulli Stacker Mount is included with Stack for Iomega software. This
mount program makes it possible for Stacker volumes to be accessed on
personal computers that do not have Stacker for Iomega software installed.
This means that disks containing compressed data can be easily transported
between users. In addition, no special compression hardware or additional
interface slots are required, saving users from additional costs.

DOS users can use simple commands to initiate a backup with Stacker for
Iomega. By simply typing "XCOPY," users can create an executable copy of
their hard drive. If the hard drive fails, the data is available
immediately from the Bernoulli disk. This on-line storage places data
right where users need it, and can get to it.

Faster and more up-to-date backups can be created by using the "XCOPY/M"
command. This command only copies files that have been changed since the
most recent backup. XCOPY requires that the back-up disk have a larger
capacity than the disk being copied. Therefore, Stacker for Iomega allows
most hard drives to be backed up directly onto the 180MB compressed
Bernoulli disk.

Stacker for Iomega is available immediately with the following Iomega
interface kits and suggested retail prices:

Stacker for Iomega with PC2B-2 Interface Kit (ISA/EISA bus) $349
Stacker for Iomega with PC4B-2 Interface Kit (Microchannel bus) $549
Stacker for Iomega with PPI-2 Interface Kit (Parallel Port) $415
