FRYE'S FREE UPGRADE TO LAN DIRECTORY TO INCLUDE EISA SUPPORT

BOSTON -- May 26, 1992 -- Frye Computer Systems, Inc., publisher of the
award winning Frye Utilities for Networks, has upgraded its powerful
inventory product, LAN Directory, to include EISA (Extended Industry
Standard Architecture) support as well as additional performance
enhancements. All registered users of LAN Directory Version 1.0 will
receive a FREE upgrade to Version 1.10. "We are committed to enhancing LAN
Directory to include the ability to gather extensive details on virtually
all PC LAN hardware and software products," says Russell Frye, president
of Frye Computer Systems. LAN Directory is the most powerful automatic
hardware and software inventory program on the market, featuring a
complete custom report writer, more information collected than any similar
product, as well as integration with other Frye products under the Frye
Utilities Management Platform.

EISA support will allow companies with Compaq and other EISA machines to
automatically gather extensive details about the boards that have been
installed in each PC. Information that is gathered generally includes the
manufacturer name, the board name and model number the interrupts 1/0
ports, shared memory and DMA used, if any, and many other details provided
by the EISA standard. Using the interface design from Frye's award winning
product, The Frye Utilities for Networks - NetWare Management, the
information can be presented in an easy to read format on the screen. The
information can also be output to reports using the powerful custom report
writer of LAN Directory.

MORE ON LAN DIRECTORY

LAN Directory allows computer managers to track all of their PCs and MACs,
including stand-alone machines, file servers, printers, external disk
drives, modems, software, and more. Over 600 key hardware elements are
tracked as well as an unlimited number of software listings. LAN Directory
provides managers with extensive details about the products installed on
their networks and their configurations. A database is maintained that can
be set for automatic or manual operation in updating hardware and software
configurations, DOS versions, etc. LAN Directory can also be used to
troubleshoot problems such as those caused by old or error-prone versions
of hardware or software. Just run a change report or a version comparison
report. LAN Directory has the most powerful custom reporting capabilities
on the market. In addition, it can be used for upgrade management,
downtime reporting, maintenance, automated inventory reporting, virus
detection, etc.

LAN Directory is the latest of a set of integrated products from Frye for
computer managers. This suite of products, which also include NetWare
Management and NetWare Early Warning System, gives network managers a
central console for LAN management. Frye will release additional
integrated management products during the coming months as part of its
commitment to the industry.

The Frye Utilities for Networks - LAN Directory Version 1.10 is available
now at a suggested retail price of $495. Upgrades from Version 1.0 are
also available now and will be provided free of charge to all registered
