NEW YORK, June 23, 1992 -- A sophisticated printer for power users or small
workgroups is being showcased by Sharp Electronics Corporation. Featuring
fast print speed and an ultra-compact design, the JX-9500H joins Sharp's
family of laser printers.

At nine pages-per-minute, the JX-9500H delivers a page every 6.6 seconds.
This powerful laser printer is ideal for making multiple copies of
documents that must project a professional appearance, providing a clean,
complete process.

The JX-9500H takes up a minimum amount of desk space with an ultracompact
footprint of just 1.3 sq. ft. and features a stack design including an
internal paper tray. This allows the user to add optional paper trays
without increasing the printer's footprint.

"With its fast speed and superior paper handling capabilities, the JX-9500H
demonstrates great flexibility for a variety of applications," says Paul
Crane, vice president, Copier and Imaging Systems Division.

Superior Paper Handling

A standard 250-sheet input tray, available in four sizes, offers automatic
printing. The manual paper feed, with its straight paper path, accepts
envelopes, transparencies, labels and other non-standard paper stock. With
the optional second paper cassette unit, the JX-9500H can print up to 500
sheets continuously. A 40-piece automatic envelope feeder is also
available, allowing users to quickly and easily handle personalized
mailings and mail merge applications.

Three-Bin Operation

With all three paper bins in operation, the JX-9500H can easily handle
sophisticated mail merge applications using the popular word processing
packages WordPerfect and WordStar. Multiple-page form letters can be
merged with mailing lists to enable the JX-9500H to print the first page
onto company letterhead, additional pages on plain bond paper and address
the envelopes automatically. The printed job is conveniently collated and
delivered on the top output tray.

"The ultra-compact design, three-bin operation, low cost per page of 2.7
cents and fast print speed lead the way in demonstrating this printer's
productivity," adds Crane.

Five popular printer emulations -- HP LaserJet Series II, Epson FX-80 with
extended mode, IBM Graphics Printer, IBM Pro Printers and Diablo 630 --
are standard. Also included are two font card slots for increased user
flexibility and 512KB of RAM that is upgradeable to 4.5MB to satisfy
demands in any environment. Both parallel and serial interfaces are
standard, allowing two computers to be connected simultaneously, while
enhancing flexible systems integration.

With the JX-9500H, emulation switching is effortless, and can be
accomplished right from the user's computer. Sharp's Emulation Switching
Software eliminates the need to ever touch the printer's control panel.
This feature is especially important in shared printer environments where
users may be quite a distance away from the unit.

The JX-9500H has a suggested retail price of $995. For more information,
