Richardson, Texas. (June 23, 1992) -- Micrografx, Inc., the first and
leading developer of Windows-compatible graphics applications, has
announced that it plans to ship a new version of its best-selling entry
level Windows drawing product, Windows Draw, in June.

Windows Draw 3.0 plus OLE will include object linking and embedding (OLE)
support and enhanced functionality optimized for Windows 3.1, plus 32
resident TrueType fonts at no extra charge, according to Micrografx
president George Grayson.

"The 32 TrueType fonts shipping with Windows Draw 3.0 now will allow users
to access a high level font library and provide an incentive for them to
upgrade to Windows 3.1," Grayson says.

"Desktop publishers and Fortune 2000 users wanting to incorporate dynamic
graphics into their documents and presentations will also get the ultimate
text manipulation capability using Windows Draw in conjunction with the
Windows 3.1 TrueType convert-to-curve feature," adds Grayson.

OLE support in Windows Draw means that a user can link or embed a drawing
in a document created with a word processing or desktop publishing
program, such as Microsoft Word for Windows, Ami Pro from Lotus,
WordPerfect for Windows, or Aldus PageMaker. The user simply double dicks
on the drawing in the document to open Windows Draw and make changes. The
drawing is updated automatically in the word processing or desktop
publishing document.

The TrueType font technology shipping with Windows 3.1 will provide users
access to 32 new high-level TrueType fonts, in addition to the 18
Bitstream and URW Nimbus-Q fonts originally shipped with Windows Draw,
according to Kim Shah, vice president of marketing at Micrografx. Shah
adds that a new "drag and drop" feature will allow users to take a file
icon from the File Manager, drag and drop it on the Print Manager icon,
and print the file.

In addition, the Windows 3.1 TrueType convert-to-curve feature in Windows
Draw will allow conversion of the fonts to curves for editing. Users will
be able to type in text, convert it to curves, and treat the text
characters as line art. This text manipulation capability is ideal for the
creation of graphics such as logos, where text can be melded together,
twisted, and turned.

"Windows Draw is a highly intuitive, innovative program that has redefined
performance and pricing parameters for drawing packages on all platforms
and raises the standards for 'entry level,"' says Shah. "In developing
Windows Draw, it was our goal to go below the $200 price barrier with a
Windows drawing product as powerful as those retailing for $400, $600, and
even more."

Micrografx developed and marketed Windows Draw with an eye toward today's
consumer spending patterns. Micrografx first promoted Windows Draw as
being "fun, fast and friendly." Product purchasers also have been paying
attention to a fourth "F," frugality, because of the low suggested retail
price of $149.95.

"Windows Draw represents Feat value at a time when the consumer market has
shifted into that mode," Shah states. "Clearly, Windows Draw is the right
product with the right price point at the right time."

Windows Draw has been named one of the Best New Desktop Publishing Products
by Computer Current and one of the ten hottest Windows applications by
COMPUTEmagazine. The product also was named the #1 best-selling
IBM-compatible business software by leading retail dealer Egghead Software
in the April 1992 issue of Home-Office Computing.

Windows Draw registered users who have proof of purchase on or after April
6 can receive a free copy of Windows Draw 3.0 plus OLE (plus a $10 charge
for shipping and handling). Other Windows Draw registered users can
upgrade for $14.95 (plus $10 for shipping and handling).

More than 75,000 copies of Windows Draw have been sold since its November
1, 1991 ship date, at a street price under $100. An IBM OS/2 2.0 version
of Windows Draw is scheduled for shipment in the third quarter of 1992.
