FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA--(JUNE 15, 1992)--NewGen Systems Corporation, a
manufacturer of multi-featured high resolution laser printers, today
announced a significant manufacturer's list price reduction on its popular
Personal Series Line. The TurboPS/400p was reduced from $2,995 to $2,595
while the TurboPS/300p dropped from $2,495 to $1,995. In addition, the
TurboPS/300p's standard RAM has been increased from 2MB to 3MB at no
additional charge to the customer.

"With our significant increase in sales we have been able to lower our
production and shipping costs," said Scott McClure, Product Manager at
NewGen. "We have chosen to lower our prices and to pass our savings on to
our customers."

Both personal printers are Adobe PostScript language compatible. The
TurboPS/400p incorporates NewGen's proprietary IET (Image Enhancement
Technology). IET increases print quality by smoothing characters, lines
and curves, to sharpen and define images. Standard on the TurboPS/400p,
IET is available as an option for the TurboPS/300p for $399.

NewGen's Automatic Recognition Technology (ART), which automatically
selects interfaces and emulations as needed, comes standard on the
personal printers.

ART means no more worrying about correctly setting interfaces and
emulations at the printer or sending a complicated series of software
commands. Users simply plug the printer in and go. Additional emulations
are HP LaserJet II and HPGL. Standard interfaces include Centronics
parallel, RS-232C serial and AppleTalk.

In addition these printers offer a variety of options including a second
250 sheet paper tray, SCSI interface, memory expansion SIMM modules, and
plug-in memory cards allows fonts, logos and emulations to be stored.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Processing Power and Memory--The controllers are based upon a next
generation RISC-based processor. Both printers have enough standard RAM to
print letter or legal size pages (4MB RAM on the TurboPS/400p and 3MB RAM
on the TurboPS/300p). Memory may be increased to 16MB for double page
buffering to increase page printing throughput and for increased font
storage capacity.

Program Updating--The Personal Series printers are designed with a cutting
edge feature to allow the control program for the printer, PDL, to be
updated directly from the computer. These printers can be updated
throughout their life with the latest updates, feature enhancements and
printer control programs by simply downloading the data from a floppy disk
or from NewGen's bulletin board.

Print Speed and Resolution--The Personal Series printers are based on the
four page per minute Canon LBP-LX print engine. The TurboPS/400p has a
base resolution of 400 dpi and is enhanced by NewGen's IET. The
TurboPS/300p has a base resolution of 300 dpi and IET is optional.

Paper Handling--These printers have a 70 sheet multi-purpose paper tray
which supports letter, legal, A4, B5 and executive paper sizes for
standard bond paper, transparencies and label stock. An optional 250 sheet
paper tray is available for enhanced paper handling and dual bin
capabilities.
