FREMONT California, March 30, 1992--Quickpath Systems Incorporated
introduces the Evolution 486, an upgradable system board with a built-in
ZIF socket. The ZIF socket allows users to upgrade CPU's quickly and
easily by pulling up the lever attached to the CPU socket. Users can now
install their own upgrades without special tools or the fear of damaging
pins, because the ZIF lever, when pulled up, releases the pressure of the
socket allowing the CPU to be removed easily. The Evolution 486 is a cost
effective upgrade solution, because most 486 CPU's are off the shelf items
which can be purchased at the going market price.
