At PC EXPO, New York, June, 1992, Quark Research Corporation of Newington,
CT, will demonstrate a new concept in data analysis, with three new
products named pdq, pdq Professional, and pdq Client Server. These high
speed data analysis and reporting tools achieve a new level of performance
by processing ASCII, dBASE, and PARADOX data files at the rate of 1 to 4
million records per minute.

pdq's very intuitive Graphical User Interface is truly unique. It is as
easy to learn as it is easy to use. Expand and collapse three levels of
detail, instantly sort on any field, and perform numerous other powerful
reporting or statistical functions at speeds never before possible. Its
text capabilities include full regular expression pattern matching.

pdq employs newly developed proprietary algorithms which take advantage of
OS/2's powerful 32 bit operating system. pdq's high-speed analysis engine
processes even the most complicated reports, having intricate selection
criteria, and descriptive statistics. Minutes of microcomputing now
replace hours of mainframe processing. Dynamic Data Exchange allows
interaction with other programs.

Based in Hartford Connecticut, the Insurance Capital of the World, Quark
Research Corporation developed pdq in response to a local demand for a
product to quickly analyze massive datafiles. pdq may be obtained directly
from the developer . Priced at $595.00 for a dBASE or PARADOX version,
$2895.00 for the professional version and $12,000 up for the server
version. Call (203) 666-3870 or Fax (203) 667-3551 for literature.

The pdq Line of High-Speed Report Writers
Version 2.0 Product Information

pdq

dBASE and PARADOX users can now read data and compile reports at speeds
approaching a million records per minute. This ad hoc report writer
enables users to quickly and easily create and run custom reports
on-the-fly, dynamically expand and collapse multiple levels of detail, and
sort on any column instantly. Relational capabilities allow a single query
to draw information from multiple data files in a one-to-one, one-to-many,
or many-to-one relationship. Easy-to-use record filter writes subsets of
selected data. Graphical User interface is unique and intuitive. Price
$595.00 in single quantities.

pdq Professional

This powerful Executive Information Tool offers the administrator or M.I.S.
professional authoritative control over a wide range of datafiles. In
addition to pdq's 32-bit query engine, and fully relational file handling
capabilities, the professional version offers access to a wide variety of
other data formats for import, export or direct processing, such as
Oracle, IBM EE, or Microsoft SQL Server. Combined data sources may also be
stored in a highly compressed native format. Imports data at 10-30
thousand records per second, and reads native format at 20-50 thousand
records per second. Expanded set of arithmetic, statistical, date, and
text functions include full regular expression pattern matching, standard
deviation, correlation, covariance, and condition count. Price $2895.00 in
single quantities.

pdq Client/Server

In addition to the full features Of pdq Professional, the Client/Server
version allows multiple networked users to simultaneously perform queries
on data stored remotely on a pdq server. It extends the high-performance
and high-capacity of the pdq server to all network users, reducing local
machine requirements. Extensive security features include passwording and
individual permission flags for each pdq function. Performance
optimizations include concurrent processing of multiple queries, option to
split a single data file over multiple drives, intelligent scheduling and
overlapping of queries over multiple drives, and an option to load
selected data files into server RAM for astonishing fast access.

Requires OS/2 2.0, and a Novel, Microsoft, IBM, or 3com network with named
pipes (dedicated or shared), with one or more networked clients running
pdq as clients.

Priced at $12,000 for the server engine with nodes at $750.00 each in
single quantities or $6,000.00 for a ten pack.
