ADDTECH RESEARCH UNVEILS 486/33 EISA SYSTEM IN BLACK TOWER

NEW YORK, CA., JUNE 23, 1992 -- Addtech Research, Inc., a leading supplier
of baseline 386 and 486 systems to the OEM and reseller markets, unveiled
an Extended Industry Standard Architecture (EISA) 486 system that operates
at 33 MHz at PC EXPO. Called the IPC 486/33 Onyx, the system is housed in
a black mini-tower chassis.

The Onyx has 8 KB of internal cache and 64 KB of external cache [expandable
to 256 KB] with a RAM cache speed of 20 ns. It is configured with 8 MB of
RAM (64 MB maximum), a high-performance, 200-MB SCSI (small computer
system interface) disk drive, a 1.2 MB 5.25-inch floppy and a 1.44 MB
3.5-inch floppy drive, a super VGA graphics board with 1 MB of RAM, two
serial ports and one parallel port. The chassis holds up to four 5.25-inch
devices and two 3.5-inch devices; all drive bays are accessible.

The motherboard uses the Intel 82350 EISA chipset with discrete direct
mapped cache, which boosts the performance of the CPU to 14.4 MIPS, based
on the PowerMeter Ver. 1.5 test. The motherboard is socketed to support
the Weitek 4167 math coprocessor and supports up to 64 MB of 80 ns RAM,
shadow ROM and shadow video. ROM BIOS supports is provided by AMI.

"Power users demand high performance from each component in their system,"
said Mei Hsu, president of Addtech Research. "The IPC 486/33 Onyx provides
one of the highest performance motherboards, as well as extremely fast and
high performance storage and video components for such compute-intensive
applications as file server, CAD/CAM, design engineering and heavy
database use.

"In addition to the system's advanced technology features, its black tower
design adds an aesthetic touch seldom found in office computers," Hsu
added.

BitFax for Windows software bundled at no additional cost. The IPC 486/33
Onyx lists for $4,799. The product is scheduled to be shipped in July.

Addtech designs and manufactures motherboards, chipsets, add-on cards and
baseline systems for the OEM market, as well as the SlimPro booksized
system for home, office and networked applications for end users and
LanPro, a complete networked environment. For additional information,
