HONEYWELL INTRODUCES REVOLUTIONARY MOUSE DESIGN TO RETAIL MARKETPLACE

Honeywell has recently introduced its popular opto-mechanical mouse to the
retail marketplace. The mouse is packaged in a four-color retail box that
includes:

- choice of three mouse formats (a 2- or 3-button serial mouse with 9-pin
serial port connectors or an IBM PS/2 compatible mouse with a mini-din
connector);

- mouse driver, Microsoft compatible software available in either 3 1/2- or
5 1/4-inch diskette(s); and

- an operators manual.

The unique design of the Honeywell mouse, licensed from Jack Hawley of
Berkeley, Calif., incorporates an opto-mechanical technology that uses an
axially inclined transducer assembly in place of the standard ball
mechanism found in 90 percent of all other mice in the PC- and
work-station marketplace. This design enables the signal of the Honeywell
mouse to remain accurate throughout the life of the product, since surface
contaminants cannot enter the mouse and interrupt the internal tracking
mechanism. Unlike the Honeywell mouse, ball mice commonly experience
interruptions causing them to skip across the surface in uncontrollable
cursor behavior. Honeywell guarantees the mouse by backing it up with a
limited lifetime warranty.

The suggested retail price of $79 makes the Honeywell mouse competitively
priced with other brand-name mouse products.
