EPSON DEMONSTRATES SOLUTIONS AT PC EXPO

NEW YORK CITY, June 23, 1992 - Epson America will feature its products in
home, small-business and corporate environments this week at PC Expo booth
2650.

Among the new products on display is the first personal computer to
incorporate CHIPS and Technologies' Wingine Windows Accelerator. The Epson
486/Wingine PC makes Windows applications run significantly faster and
provides fast, cache-like processing without the high cost of a cache. The
state-of-the-art machine will be available in 1992 third quarter.

Other new PCs include the Equity 486DX2/50 PLUS that features Intel's
"clock doubling" microprocessor, the Equity 386/33 PLUS with
price/performance value needed for popular applications. For networking,
large databases and other advanced applications, the Epson EISA Series
computer comes in desktop and tower designs with a 486-based processor.
Another EISA model, the Epson ExpressStation, offers high performance and
flexible processor upgradeability in a "slimline" chassis.

A live stage presentation shows Epson products in a variety of user
environments.

"Small-Business Solutions". In the small-business arena, Epson is featuring
its Equity 386/33 PLUS personal computer, 14-inch Extended VGA monitor and
EPL-8000 laser printer. The EPL-8000 is ideally suited for small business
because of its unique ability to support up to three non-networked PCs and
accommodate a separate printer language from each.

"Large Business/MlS Solutions." Epson's new EISA towers and high
performance ISA computers are featured in a local area network. When
high-speed output is critical, Epson's DFX-8000 impact printer puts out up
to 1,066 characters per second and has advanced paper-handling
capabilities.

Transporting work between the home, office or remote location is
accomplished easily on an NB-SL series 386 notebook computer. Removable
hard drives make it especially easy to share a notebook among multiple
users or access the hard drive from either and NB-SL or a desktop PC with
an adapter. An optional expansion unit converts the notebook into a
desktop PC with a full-sized keyboard and CRT monitor.

"Home Office Solutions". The ActionPrinter 3250 is designed especially for
home computing. Besides being lightweight, compact and unusually quiet,
the 24-pin printer has a convenient cassette tray for paper. Similar
features can be found on the ActionPrinter 2250, a 9-pin version of the
3250. For home-office users looking for an easy-to-use computer, the
configured version of Epson's Equity 320sx PLUS comes loaded with MS-DOS
and Windows.

EPSON EXPANDS PHONE SUPPORT HOURS AND OFFERS ON SITE SERVICE FOR DESKTOP
PCs

TORRANCE, Calif., June 23, 1992 Epson America has expanded its toll-free
support hours to serve customers from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Pacific
Time, Monday through Friday. Previously, the Customer Support Center
operated from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, Epson is now offering
on-site service for its desktop PCs covered under warranty.

Toll-Free Support

By dialing 1-800-922-8911, customers can obtain technical support, product
information and literature, or locate the nearest reseller or service
center. The toll-free number also accesses Epson's FaxBack system, which
provides technical information 24 hours a day.

John Lang, executive vice president of Support Services, said "Epson has
always provided telephone support for its products, and is now taking a
proactive position that encourages customers to call. This includes hiring
and training additional employees so we can expand the hours of operation.
The new hours make us more accessible to East Coast customers in the
morning as well as West Coast customers in the evening."

On-Site Service for Desktops

Along with expanded support hours, Epson is offering free on-site warranty
service for the maintenance and repair of its computer systems purchased
on or after May 1. The service is available through authorized service
centers during the one-year warranty period. All desktop and tower
computers, monitors and keyboards are covered as system elements.

Lang noted that "Our commitment to customer satisfaction includes making it
easy for people to get service for their PCs. What could be easier than
having a trained technician come to the workplace or home?"

On-site service is available during normal business hours (typically 9:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday, for users located within 50
miles of an authorized onsite servicer. Epson has contracted with TRW to
implement the service from 104 locations in the U.S. In addition, up to
400 Epson-authorized service centers are expected to have on-site
capability by August.

For referral to the nearest on-site service, users can call 1-800-922-8911
between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. Most
on-site calls will be made the next business day. If replacement parts are
needed, Epson will ship them for next-day delivery to servicers.

For service after the one-year warranty period, customers may contact their
service about extending the on-site agreement, or call the toll-free
number given above for the nearest carry-in location.
