SAN DIEGO, CA--Skylight, a diagnostic and troubleshooting tool helps
resolve conflicts between Windows and the system hardware, will ship July
1, 1992 from the RenaSonce Group.

"Skylight offers the most comprehensive graphical memory map which shows
every area of memory that Windows is impacting. "It's a window into
Windows," states Pat Bryan, RenaSonce Vice President and General Manager.

Skylight is an active, kinetic program that provides constant,
up-to-the-minute readouts of system and software information. This
includes standard aspects such as memory, disk drives, port usage and task
assignments, but also delves into an unprecedented level of detail. For
instance, Skylight's task information displays the specific memory segment
each application occupies.

Skylight has its own Editor for help with the four most important system
files: AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI. Selecting one of
these not only offers the ability to edit the file, but displays
context-sensitive help for over 650 DOS and Windows commands. For
instance, if a user needs information about the 386 grabber command in the
SYSTEM.INI file, a right-hand mouse click on that word brings up an
explicit, specially developed explanation.

Skylight uses Windows' Multiple Document Interface (MDI) for the display of
its diagnostic information. Each user request pops up in a separate
window, which is then overlapped by the next request. The MDI provides the
Skylight user with a practically infinite selection of Windows (restricted
only by memory), with all active windows listed through the Window menu
item. Unlike other utilities, which start separate versions of programs
for different functions, MDI allows Skylight to lessen demands on the
system and subsequently provide more accurate diagnostics.

While Skylight's standard modules help users to solve today's problems, its
multimedia diagnostic ability anticipates the hardware problems they are
certain to confront when installing multimedia systems. When sound boards,
CD ROM drives, joysticks and MIDI devices are added to a system, they are
bound to cause conflicts with the existing hardware.

Skylight, by mapping out installed device drivers, I/O Ports and IRQ
assignments, helps to pinpoint these conflicts so they can be addressed,
similar to finding the broken connection on a stereo system. Knowing which
device driver is currently in use may be essential for it to operate with
a particular board. Skylight also tells the user if the installed
equipment is working as promised, whether it supports stereo or mono
recording and playback, 8 or 16-bit operation or bisynchronous playback,
among other features.

"Through Skylight's powerful diagnostics, users can fine-tune their systems
to find the hardware and software combinations that work together well.
Furthermore, the program helps to isolate an offending hardware or
software component, clearing a path for effective co-operation within the
PC," states Bryan. "Today's PC environment uses diverse components from
many manufacturers." Skylight provides users with the means to make them
all work together in harmony.

Skylight, with a suggested list price of $99.95, will be available through
standard retail channels or direct from the RenaSonce Group,
