HOPKINTON, MA--June 23, 1992: Legacy Storage Systems Inc. is pleased to
announce the release of an entry level subsystem: the Legacy M.A.S.S. SL.
It is a high performance multi-device subsystem that utilizes a standard
SCSI bus and is CPU independent, allowing easy connections to IBM, Compaq
and compatibles, Macintosh, SUN or DEC systems.

The Legacy M.A.S.S. SL can hold up to four full-height or eight half-height
storage devices and is available in single or duplex bus assembly models.
The subsystem attaches directly to file servers or stand-alone engineering
workstations and can increase storage capacities to over 5 Gb. Multiple
SCSI buses allow for the easy installation of various media, including
hard disk, optical or tape backup drives.

The single bus configuration includes a high capacity hard disk, power
supply and a SCSI bus cable connection. The duplex bus assembly model
includes duplicate host connection ports, power supplies and hard disks.

Dave Killins, Legacy's President said, "This new extension of our M.A.S.S.
family allows our customers to protect their investment in fault tolerant
disk storage. They can begin with the economical SL unit, and then add
features such as the hot fix capability without throwing away their
initial investment in enclosures or data storage devices."

CAD/CAM/CAE, desktop publishing and document image processing are just a
few of the many applications that will benefit from this innovative
design.

Easy Serviceability

The Legacy M.A.S.S. SL was built with easy serviceability in mind: a disk
and power supply status display panel indicates the need for service and a
side-hinged door makes installation and removal of storage devices faster
and easier.

The SL model is fully field upgradeable to a Legacy M.A.S.S. HFD (Hot Fix
Device). Device-mounted trays connect into a rigid SCSI backplane,
enabling the easy replacement of a failed drive without the need to power
down the system or interrupt the network; drive rebuilding is transparent
to the user.

The Legacy M.A.S.S. SL is currently shipping and is available in modular
form. Suggested list prices begin at US$3,245; the HFD upgrade kit is
available for US$1,410. Please contact Legacy Storage Systems directly at
(508) 435-4700 for additional information.
