ELAN SOFTWARE INTRODUCES ENHANCED GOLDMINE 2.5
Has New Features Not Found In Other Contact Management Programs

ENCINO, Calif. (June 23, 1992) -- In response to customer demand, ELAN
Software Corp. today announced its enhanced GoldMine version 2.5 with new
unique features not found in other contact management programs.

Group Scheduling

GoldMine's group scheduling features rival stand-alone network schedulers,
making network scheduling easier than ever. GoldMine 2.5 empowers users to
quickly schedule users and resources, finding available times
automatically -- all with R.S.V.P. verification. It's as simple as telling
GoldMine who, what and when and GoldMine does the rest.

"Smart Remote Transfer Merge"

This powerful new feature updates remote GoldMine systems with any changes,
merging the changes on records at the field level. Now, remote notebook
users and salespeople can transfer data electronically, allowing them to
update and be updated with their home office. Information on contacts are
merged automatically, including notes, history, calendar and messages.

User-definable Screens & Fields

GoldMine now allows users to "personalize" the structure of the contact
database and endusers screens, allowing for virtually unlimited
flexibility and, of course, increased productivity. Each department may
create a different user screen suited to their needs, allowing sales,
service and accounting to use one system -- personalized for each unique
department.

Unlimited Additional Contacts

GoldMine 2.5 provides for complete address information for each Additional
Contact record stored on the Other Contacts screen. This address
information can be used to store the mailing addresses of contacts located
at different physical locations than the primary contact, or it can store
alternate addresses for the primary contact. In addition, GoldMine 2.5
supports print merging with the additional contact address information.

Improved Security

GoldMine 2.5 now employs a two-tiered security system that allows for more
flexible access control. Each contact record can now contain an optional
"owner" or can remain a "public" record. GoldMine 2.5 also provides five
levels of security, allowing the system administrator to quickly and
easily upgrade a user's security settings without manually changing
various menu-level access settings. In addition, sophisticated record
curtaining allows the system administrator to hide information on a
contact record from users who do not possess ownership.

The most comprehensive contact management software available for networks
and remote notebooks today, GoldMine 2.5 runs on any IBM-compatible
portable, desktop or networked PC. According to a recent Software Digest
Ratings Report (April 1992), editors stated, "Although the program excels
in single user use, the program's strength lies in its network use" and
was ranked at the top in a comparative review with eight other contact
management programs.

"In sum, GoldMine 2.5 provides a powerful, integrated program that takes
full advantage of a network environment and remote notebooks," says Jon
Ferrara, vice president. "GoldMine was conceived and designed for the
networked office and remote notebooks. It's more than just a contact
management program -- it's a comprehensive solution for the whole
office."

GoldMine 2.5 will begin shipping in June, with a suggested U.S. list price
of $295 for a single user, $895 for up to five network users, and $895 for
each additional five users. Site licenses are available.
