ASANTE LAUNCHES PC MARKET ASSAULT

Leader in high performance Macintosh networking to offer complete line of
PC Ethernet adapters

Sunnyvale, CA, April 6, 1992--Asante Technologies, Inc., the market leader
in high-performance Macintosh network products, today announced its move
into the PC and compatibles market with a complete family of PC Ethernet
adapters. This move marks the second phase of Asante's long term strategy
to become a comprehensive network products company. The Asante EtherNIC
adapters include five new cards providing ISA, MCA and EISA bus
connectivity to thick, thin, and 10BaseT networks. Each of the products is
designed for simple user installation using Asante's supplied installer
software.

"The market demand for Ethernet connectivity solutions in mixed
environments has been increasing rapidly as shown by the steady growth of
our 10BaseT hub sales," explains Ron Volkmar, Asante's vice president of
marketing and distribution. "Customers require a single, reliable source
for their high performance networking needs. Asante's new PC Ethernet
cards enable users to come to us for all their connectivity solutions,
regardless of platform."

"Asante is committed to providing seamless connectivity across different
platforms and network standards," stated Wilson Wong, Asante president and
CEO. "Our leadership in the Macintosh arena is only the beginning for
Asante. Likewise, Asante's new PC Ethernet cards are only a component of
our strategy to become a comprehensive network products company. As we
continue to expand our offerings into other platforms and networking
media, users will be able to obtain all their connectivity solutions from
Asante."

As with all of Asante's cards, the EtherNIC series cards meet all IEEE
specifications for Ethernet and are backed by a 5 year warranty with 100%
repair or replacement. The new PC Ethernet cards support all popular
network operating systems, including NetWare, LAN Manager, LAN Server,
Vines, PC/TCP/IP, DECnet PC LAN, MS Net, LANtastic, 10NET. The EtherNIC
series cards have been designed using industry standard National
Semiconductor chip sets.

EtherNIC 2000 Series for ISA

EtherNIC 2000 Series cards enable IBM PC, XT, AT and compatibles with an
Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) bus to connect to an Ethernet
network. Asante's EtherNIC 2003 is a 16-bit 3-in-1 Ethernet card, which
allows users with a thin or thick Ethernet network to migrate to a 10BaseT
network without added expense. The suggested retail price is $249. The
EtherNIC 2001 is a 16-bit card with ports for thick and 10BaseT
connections and a suggested retail price of $199. Both cards are
compatible with Novell's NE2000 Ethernet cards and will ship in mid-May.

EtherNIC 2100 Series for MCA

EtherNIC 2100 Series cards provide Ethernet connectivity for Micro Channel
PS/2 and compatible computers. Asante's EtherNIC 2102 is a 16-bit Ethernet
card with ports for thick and thin connections. The suggested retail price
is $299. The EtherNIC 2101 is a 16-bit Ethernet card with two ports for
thick and 10BaseT connections. The suggested retail price is $299. Both
cards will ship in mid-May.

EtherNIC 2200 Series for EISA

Asante's EtherNIC 2203 is a 32-bit, Thick/Thin/10BaseT Ethernet card for
personal computers with an Extended Industry Standard Architecture (EISA)
bus. This 3-in-1 card includes auto-sensing ports to provide Ethernet
connectivity for IBM PC ATs and compatibles. Because it is a 32-bit card,
the EtherNIC 2200 takes full advantage of the EISA bus' 32-bit data
transfer capabilities. The EtherNIC 2203 card will ship in August for a
suggested retail price of $299.

reliability. MacUser Labs recently recommended Asante's MacCon+ 10BaseT
Ethernet cards over 29 other cards because of their reliability and
support: "You can't go wrong choosing a 10BaseT card from the Asante
line," (MacUser, Sept. 1991).

All Asante products strictly adhere to the IEEE specifications for
Ethernet. They support a variety of network operating systems and
protocols including AppleShare, NetWare, 3+ Open, TCP/IP, DECnet and all
AFP-compatible software. All Asante products are 100% quality assurance
tested before shipping and are backed by free technical support and
Asante's five year product warranty.
