HAYES DELIVERS HIGH PERFORMANCE COMMUNICATIONS
Announces NetWare and Windows Drivers for Hayes ESP

ATLANTA, GA, 10 June 1992 -- Hayes Microcomputer Products, Inc. today
announced the immediate availability of Hayes ESP Driver for NetWare and a
special asynchronous driver for Windows Version 3.1 which supports Hayes
ESP and other serial communications interfaces. These drivers take
advantage of Hayes ESP Direct Memory Access (DMA) feature to provide
reliable serial port speeds of up to 57,600 bit/s in each of these system
environments.

Hayes ESP, a dual enhanced serial port, ensures optimum performance of
today's high-speed modems and ISDN system adapters in multitasking or
network operating systems. Hayes ESP provides a dedicated communications
co-processor, data buffers and flow control to ensure data integrity and
increase data throughput performance.

Hayes ESP and Hayes ESP Driver for NetWare V3.11 are Novell Labs Tested and
Approved. Hayes ESP Driver for NetWare allows Novell's Asynchronous
Communications Services (NACS) V3.0, NetWare Loadable Modules (NLMs), to
take full advantage of Hayes ESP. The combination of Hayes ESP, NACS V3.0
and high-speed modems, such as Hayes OPTIMA 144 or ULTRA 144, adds
low-cost, high-speed communications server capability to a NetWare V3.11
file server. This solution allows communications software, such as
Smartcom Exec and Smartcom for Windows that support NASI, to take
advantage of shared modems on a file server.

"If you don't include Hayes ESP as part of your communications setup, you
will get less from your high-speed modem or ISDN system adapter than you
expect," said Hayes President Dennis C. Hayes. "Hayes ESP, OPTIMA 144,
Smartcom Exec and NACS create a winning combination and a low-cost
alternative to LAN modems on Novell networks."

Hayes ESP Driver for Windows 3.1 allows Windows programs to use either the
Hayes ESP port or a standard serial port through the same standard Windows
communications API. Because of the addition of block mode support in the
Windows 3.1 kernel, this driver, when used with Hayes ESP, offers improved
performance over the standard Windows driver and the previous Hayes ESP
Driver for Windows 3.0.

Hayes ESP products are available for both XT/AT/ISA and Micro Channel
computers and come packaged with the drivers. Current Hayes ESP customers
or anyone wishing to improve the performance of their high-speed serial
communications, can obtain a copy of Hayes ESP Drivers through Hayes
Customer Service. These drivers are also available through Online with
Hayes, Hayes Bulletin Board System and on Compuserve (Hayes Forum).

and supports computer communications equipment and software for personal
computers computer communications networks. The company distributes its
