Carson City, NV, - May 13, 1992 - To further enhance the space and cost
saving features of the QL series boards, Cubix Corporation has introduced
the QL 3002, a DUAL 80386SX asynchronous communications processor board.

QL 3002 consists of two independent systems, each capable of remote
communications support, that can be installed in a single slot of a Novell
fileserver or bridged AT.

QL 3002's dual 80386SX processor architecture has the speed and power for
processor-, memory-, and display-intensive applications like Windows. QL
3002 serves two independent users simultaneously. With dual 25 MHz 80386SX
processors, up to 16 MBytes of RAM per processor, full VGA support,
state-of-the-art l/O handling, and busbased network throughput, the QL
3002 has everything - twice - for low-cost, high performance remote
connections.

Each processor has a 80387SX coprocessor socket, 72-pin SIMM socket, and a
16C552 dual serial l/O chip to optimize the communications pathway. A
16-byte l/O buffer provides smooth flow control when using high speed
modems for distant connections. Each AT also employs direct RAM addressing
to transfer data directly between the processors on the QL board and the
file server.

QL Vision communications management software, packaged with each QL 3002,
provides system administrators with audit trail reports, screen
re-direction tools, and inactivity timers with hard reset features.

The hardware reset feature guarantees the processor can be rebooted if the
software application running in the processor fails. The hardware reset is
jumper selectable.

"By having two of these high speed processors on one board, higher density
is accomplished," said Eric Murr, product manager for Cubix. "A company
can double the number of processors needed for communications and still
only take up the same amount of space a single processor board requires,"
continues Murr.

Installed in the EISA or ISA bus of the Novell file server or bridged
system, the QL 3002 board transfers data up to three times faster than
ordinary networked products, because the data is moved in parallel across
the bus instead of serially on a network cable. Murr further stated, "With
this high speed capability, Windows applications run much faster."

The QL 3002 dual processor board retails for $2995 and is ready for
immediate delivery.
