                            HOW IT ALL WORKS
                            ================

You've probably read our claim that membership of STUNN! is
absolutely free. Now you're just waiting for us to drop the
other shoe and tell you how much it REALLY costs? Well, read
on and you'll see that we really were telling the truth.

     What will STUNN! offer me?
     --------------------------

That's largely dependent on what you want. Tell us what you
want from this club and we'll try to give it you. Initially,
here's what we hope to achieve:

     * A regular club magazine, written by both amateurs and
     professionals.

     * Genuine discounts on hardware and software for members,

     * Free software for members carried on the magazine disk.
Most of this will be PD, but remember that it will be
absolutely free; no copying fees etc.

     * A free PD service is also planned. Under this system,
members may select from range of PD/Shareware software,
supplying their own disks and paying only postage costs.

There's a lot more detail we could include, but you'll learn
more as we go along. For example, the magazine will carry
general articles, hardware/software problem pages, fiction,
     reviews, tips and occasional competitions.

Here's something else to remember. No matter what we offer to
members in the future, it will be absolutely free. No hidden
charges, no catches. All we'll ask is for our expenses to be
returned. So, if for example, we manage to obtain a supply of
disks at a cost of 25p each, we will only charge 25p per disk
plus postage etc. at cost. Obviously, if it cost us 50 to
arrange for this, we'd probably add 1p to the price of the
5000 disks to recover our our expenses, but after they'd been
recovered, the price would be reduced by 1p. See what we mean?

How do I become a member?
     -------------------------

     Just write in. That's it.

As a show of faith, we charge a once-only membership
subscription of 3. This gives life membership to STUNN!
Now, we understand that not everyone will have 3 to send out
to us. Okay, if you honestly can't afford it, forget the
money. Just try to send in a donation when you're a little
     better off.

Incidentally, the 3 isn't used to pay for holidays in the
Bahamas, it just allows us to recover some of our expenses.
Remember, while you're enjoying the fruits of our labour,
we're writing to manufacturers, phoning retailers, visiting
shows and obtaining goods and services for the club. And all
     of that costs money.

How do I get the magazine?
     --------------------------

Send in a blank disk and two postage stamps (one of which
should be first class). One stamp will be used to return your
disk, the other will be used to cover the expense of actually
producing and duplicating the magazine. That's it. In other
words, each copy of the magazine will cost you as little as
70p, including all postage and the price of your envelope. Not
     bad, eh?

Until things get a little more established, the magazine will
appear at irregular intervals, although we will try to publish
monthly. So, if you send in a disk and don't hear from us
for a while, don't worry because we won't have forgotten you.

How do I contact the club?
     --------------------------

Same system as for the mag. Send two postage stamps with your
letter. One will be used for your reply, the other for
     expenses.

     Anything else I should know?
     ----------------------------

     Just a few points.

We're sorry to have to do this, but this is our unbreakable
rule with no exceptions. There's also no retreat and no
surrender (too many war movies as a child). Here it is: no
postage stamps, no reply. If you send in a letter without the
stamps, we won't be able to reply. If you send in a disk
without the stamps, no magazine. We'll keep the disk for a
while, in case you get in touch with a spare stamp so that we
can return it, but after a while, we'll just use the disk for
STUNN! This may sound a little harsh, but imagine the time and
effort involved in chasing after people for the sake of a
single disk worth only 30p. Simply, we have better things to
spend time and money on - like providing a better service for
     our members.

When you send in for your magazine, use a decent disk,
please. We can't afford to replace members' disks for them and
we haven't the time to try three hundred variations on a
     format command.

     Where's the catch?
     ------------------

     There isn't one. 'Nuff said.
