                             INTRODUCTION
                             ============

     Before I go on with the usual business of introducing the
     writers and stories in this section, here's an important
     announcement...

     EDITOR'S NOTE
     -------------

     STUNN! is extremely pleased to be involved in this exciting
     new venture. STUNN! staff will be assisting the club in a
     variety of ways and the magazine will be advertising the
     club for the benefit of our readers. If you like STUNN!'s
     editorial policy and the kind of fiction we bring to you in
     every issue, you'll *love* the British SF Club!

     Incidentally, although STUNN! is happy to assist the club in
     any way that it can, we are not part of the club; it is
     an entirely independent organisation.

     Now, back to what I was saying earlier...

                               * * * * *

     Welcome to STUNN!'s fiction section. If you're new to STUNN!,
     then the idea of ficton in a computer magazine is probably
     new to you too. Stranger still, most of the stories in this
     section have absolutely nothing to do with computers at all!

     Why have we included them? Well, we believe that a magazine,
     regardless of the medium used for the transmission of the
     text, is primarily for entertainment. We're quite certain
     that once you get used to the idea of short stories in STUNN!
     that you'll look upon them as a welcome source of
     entertainment and as a little light relief from all of the
     tech talk that goes on in the other sections. Another good
     reason (from our point of view) is that the stories
     themselves tend to be very, very good.

     In this issue, Bryan Joyce's latest Tavern tale - probably
     his best yet!

                                * * *

     Anyway, here's an abridged version of the usual ending to
     the intro...

     1. Send me your comments (good or bad) about these stories
     and any others in STUNN!

     2. If you've got a story to tell, send it to me too. All
     submissions are treated fairly (no "boys' club" here) and
     style, spelling, grammar etc. is irrelevant. Basically, if
     you've got a good story, we want it: don't bother with
     technicalities - let us worry about tidying it up.

     3. Enjoy!

                                 Ends.
