FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA--(APRIL 27, 1992)--NewGen Systems Corporation, a leader
in multi-featured, high resolution laser printers, today announced the
availability of Ethernet cards for its T and Pro series printers.
Ethernet, standard on NewGen's new TurboPS/880 and the TurboPS/1200T is
available for $499 ($US) as an option for the Pro and T Series printers.

"Adding Ethernet as a product option clearly pushes NewGen printers up to a
new level of shared resource printing. Ethernet represents a high-growth
market segment and it is important to our customers that NewGen is a
player," said Brian Anderson, Product Manager for NewGen. "As the demand
for multiuser/network printers became more eminent, we decided that adding
network capabilities would further enhance our product line while
providing us an overall competitive edge."

NewGen offers three protocols all in the one card. EtherTalk, TCP/IP and
Novell (Novell available 7/92) are available to Macintosh, PC and SUN UNIX
users with thick coax AUI (10Base5), thin coax (10base2) and twisted pair
(10BaseT) connectors. NetWork ART, NewGen's new network auto switcher, is
incorporated to provide users with automatic protocol switching. The user
does not have to physically switch between protocols. This advanced
feature is similar to NewGen's Auto Recognition Technology (ART), an
interface and emulation switcher.

The NewGen Ethernet Expansion cards offer a variety of key benefits for
users:

. Ethernet throughout is 10Mbits/second versus 230kbits/second through
AppleTalk, thus improving speed and performance.

. NetWork ART, is a proprietary feature that enables the printer to
simultaneously communicate with all protocols. This benefits users in
mixed environments that use Sun Sparc stations, Macs and PCs and
eliminates the need for special spooling software, external routers,
converter boxes or special software.

. Protocols supported include EtherTalk (Phase 2), TCP/IP, and Novell (July
1992) inclusive in one easy-to-install EtherNet card. This provides
communication compatibility with the most commonly used network for
desktop publishing and desktop prepress environments. These environments
run under UNIX, Apple Macintosh and DOS operating systems.

. Ethernet expansion cards allow users to directly connect to the Ethernet
network cabling (ports) through one of three ports including Twisted Pair,
Thin and Thick coax cabling, thus offering a variety of media support for
old and new cabling environments.

. Affordability. At list price of $499 the Ethernet card is more affordable
than external boxes and provides superior performance and value with
NewGen's NetWork ART and port selections.

. Ethernet cards come with a one-year warranty and are end user
installable.
