Conference Showcases Real-World Client-Server Applications
August 29 through September 1, 1993 in San Francisco

Menlo Park, Calif, July 26, 1993--Gupta Corporation (NASDAQ: GPTA)
announced today the details of its fourth annual international Gupta
Developers Conference August 29 to September 1,1993 in San Francisco.
Underscoring the theme, "Client-Server At Work: Applications For The New
Enterprise," this year's conference will highlight the benefits of
collaborative programming for the development of mission-critical
enterprise-wide applications on PCs, a technology that Gupta has pioneered
with the introduction of SQLWindows 4.0.

Gupta also announced Ray Noorda, Chairman and CEO, Novell, Inc. and Larry
Ellison, Chairman and CEO, Oracle Corporation will be keynote speakers at
this year's conference. They will be joined by Umang Gupta, President and
CEO, Gupta Corporation.

Developers interested in real-world client-server applications, from small
departmental programs to complex, mission-critical transaction systems,
are invited to attend.

The conference curriculum is comprised of five families of topics pertinent
to building client-server systems. The five topical families are:
Fundamental Concepts and Techniques, Developing a SQL System, SQLBase,
Client-Server At Work, and Management And Standards.

The conference offers in-depth technical sessions designed for experienced
client-server programmers, as well as sessions covering basic concepts and
techniques fundamental to developing with the Gupta environment, such as
object-oriented programming, collaborative programming, and programming
with templates. The agenda also includes real-world case studies from such
companies as Mobil Oil, Grant Thornton for Federal Express and UPS, and
others.

Gupta held its first Developers Conference in 1990. In 1992 the company
expanded the Conference to include one in Europe as well. Gupta estimates
that over 25,000 developers use its products worldwide.
