PC EXPO BREAKS EXHIBITOR AND ATTENDANCE RECORDS

Eleventh Annual Trade Show Sets Records - 800 Exhibitors and 98,643
Attendees Registered; More Than 350 New Products Displayed

(Fort Lee, NJ, July 22) -- PC EXPO in New York buzzed with new technology
and excitement as the number of exhibitors and attendees set records for
the show, which took place June 29-July 1. More than 350 new products were
announced or previewed to attendees, who jammed the aisles at the Jacob K.
Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Eight hundred exhibitors spanned three levels of the Javits Center during
PC EXPO, showcasing computer hardware, software and services to 98,643
attendees during the show. Product showcases on the PC EXPO exhibit floor
highlighted Windows applications, multimedia, OS/2, portable computing and
Windows NT.

Exhibitors showcasing new technology included: Adobe, Aldus, Adaptec, Apple
Computer, AST Research, Borland, Compaq, Egghead Software, HewlettPackard,
IBM, Intel, Lotus, Microsoft, NEC Technologies, Panasonic, Sharp, Sony,
Toshiba, WordPerfect and Zenith Data Systems.

Bill Gates, chairman and CEO of Microsoft, opened the show by delivering
the PC EXPO keynote address to a crowd of thousands that packed the
Special Events Hall and an overflow room at the Javits Center. His
address, "New Technology for the Information Age," included a preview of
new products from Microsoft.

The PC EXPO Plenary Speech, "The IBM PC Company: On the Comeback Trail,"
consisted of an overview of the new directions IBM is taking in providing
ease-of-use computing. The speech was delivered by Robert Corrigan, the
company's president, to an audience that packed the Special Events Hall.
Mr. Corrigan previewed new technology under development by the IBM PC
Company, including pen-based PCs and speech recognition.

Energy-efficient PCs were on display at the Energy Star Pavilion, under the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Con Edison. The new "green PCs"
from companies such as Apple, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Tandy,
Toshiba, and others, reduce PC energy consumption by 50 percent.

The show network for PC EXPO -- the ShowNet System, offered PC EXPO
attendees an opportunity to access on-line show information, and to send
messages electronically to other show attendees and the outside world.

The PC EXPO Seminar Series featured the largest conference program ever,
with 77 sessions divided into seven tracks, including a new Multimedia
Track. Eight PC EXPO Tutorials -- intensive, all-day seminars that drew
strong attendance -- were held on Monday, June 28.

The Twelfth Annual PC EXPO will return June 28-30, 1994, to the Jacob K.
Javits Convention Center in New York City.
